Jamie

While the chaos of the fence construction went on outside, Shannon and I went through a quarterly check-in at my kitchen table.  After planning the year ahead, I was a bit nervous about doing this. I didn't want to go in and second guess myself. It turned out to be a great process, really affirming where we're on track and doing great, deepening our knowledge of our own processes and what works and allowing us to refine the course ahead. Plus we had lots of good coffee and great giggles! All the while the fences coming down around us. Maybe that's a sign that good things are opening up for both of us!

Shannon

All prepped and ready to do a quarterly check in with Jamie1 It was so much fun and so great to spend the time to work on it and see where things are at, where things went and had the info to decide on where things are going in the future! Very powerful.

Suzie

I think Shannon subconsciously inspired me to tackle a little bit of my kitchen yesterday. I had no idea you had worked on that video Shannon!

Here is the controversial toaster oven. Same company who made my faulty coffee makers. They wanted to give me an expensive coffee maker to make up for it but I don't need two so I asked for the toaster oven instead. It's only $20 (like the last coffee maker) and I am going to product test it. When Reg is around. I am kind of nervous about it.

Funny thing? It's smaller than my toaster! Easier to clean too. I got rid of all the crumbs before putting it away in my nice clean cubby.

Jamie, that is super impressive! You and Shannon are going to have to show me how to do this "organization thing" when I come to visit. I'm so bad at planning ahead! But if it helps, then I am in.

We had a great time, Suzie. We journalled through some guiding check-in questions and then had a chance to chat it out.

One of my favourite things we did was defining how we measured success or being happy with, say, our blog or our podcast. I found that very revealing. It helped me get clear on my goals but it also reflected back to me what I find important. Really interesting and really useful.

That's awesome the company wanted to make it up to you! I hope the toaster oven is a good'un! I'll look forward to the product testing :)

And Ive totally got to check out Shannon's kitchen vids. I haven't seen them yet.

Oh I like the guided check-in questions idea and chatting with someone else always helps. Interesting. How happy are your projects making you? Very good question and I bet the answers were revealing! I had no idea that planning the year ahead could be so interesting and enlightening, that is awesome.

Yup, you totally have to check out Shannon's kitchen video, I love seeing her space.

My pics a late add, but it will be familiar as I think I took it at the same time as Jamie, tee hee!

One of the huge things about the check in I think it starting by thinking, not planning. I could plan anything, anytime, but before that it's about seeing where you are and what you'd like to do and THEN plan for THAT. Very powerful.

I love your new toaster over Suzie! It's so cute & wee - I hope it works out for you!

Jamie - I set you links to the kitchen videos! Silly facebook makes that stuff so hard to find!

You two are both so organized, even if your photographs, I love it.

Oh I like that it starts with thinking first Shannon, interesting. I think a plan after figuring out what you think is so smart. I'm going to mull that over a bit.

It is very wee Shannon! Which is why I wanted it. :)
