Jamie

Yesterday Justin and I had a great time going for a guitar consultation! We spent 30 minutes with Emilio who showed us the basics and talked to us about classes. My finger tips are still numb and I'm a bit distraught by how instantaneously I forgot information but it was still fun and good to do something that's new and a stretch - and together!

Suzie

Yesterday was kind of brutal. Somehow I hurt my neck while sleeping and then just by talking on the phone to Mom I threw out the left side of my back. To rest and recover I watched Stranded last night. It was spooky and I totally loved it. Doing a bit better today but am going to be extra careful. I see lots of TV and especially Netflix in my near future.

That is so awesome you got to the consultation Jamie! The guitar is pretty rough on the fingers. I am sure once you get more used to it, the info will stick more. When it is something brand new, we have no frame of reference which makes it tougher.

Sorry I am late! I am moving quite slowly today since I hurt my neck and back.

I'm so excited you got out to guitar consultation and chatted classes Jamie! I can't wait to hear more, and remember that I'm sure it's very normal to forget new things learned quickly, that's why we jump in again and practice and all that fun stuff! But the BIG thing is , you did it!!

I'm sorry to hear you had such a challenging day yesterday Suzie, it's so hard when one thing hurts, and then another, and another. Good thing you decided to rest up and caught Stranded. I really enjoyed it too and can't wait to talk about it on Hexed.

Sorry I'm been missing the past few days here, I just have been WIPED of energy.

LOL, at first I totally thought you were one of the people holding a camera in your pic, Suzie!

I'm so sorry that you've hurt yourself but glad that you had a chance to rest and enjoy a show. I hope you feel better really soon.

Thanks so much for the encouragement about guitar! I'm sure that practice will play a big role in starting to grasp things well enough to remember them and in getting callouses on my fingertips. Though I do have to say... do I want callouses on my fingertips?

And Shannon, I totally had to laugh because the first thing he had us learn to play was....

Smoke on the Water.

Oh good! So glad you enjoyed Stranded too Shannon and no worries, totally get the energy thing. I hope you get some time to rest soon. You've been quite busy which I know is hard.

I wish Jamie! I would totally go on this show. :)

The callous thing is a tough one. You really do have to get tougher and tougher over time and it's really hard on your fingers. It is good to ask, is it worth it. Maybe it is?! Maybe not.

We are officially signing up for 2 months worth of classes. I think that's a good amount of time to get a sense of whether to continue or not - and it will be a really good learning experience together.

Thanks for the encouragement!

I think that's great Jamie! Even if it is just for a little while, the experience will be great and learning together is beautiful. I bet you're going to have fun!
