Today we're getting an estimate on replacing our fence. Looking back at this picture when we moved in back in 2004, the fence needed replacing then! It's far worse now, but I can assure you that the garden has come a very long way. One thing I will miss is the rugged background for pictures of flowers!

Recently Reg asked me to take a photograph of a photograph of his grandfather who you can see above in the center in the WW1 Halifax Rifles Infantry. He is Reg's namesake and I thought it was a cool idea to do a rewind of Reg's family.

Thanks, it is so nice to share Reg's history here too. Wild photo, isn't it. Reg's Dad grew up in a very different era too.
We'll be putting in a taller shadow fence with lattice on top. We'll get a new gate too and also maybe open the front of the deck with some stairs down into the garden as well.

Suzie, yep, we hope to have the fence in before we go to France. It's a bit ambitious but I want to move before too many of my plants will be impacted.
Thank you, Shannon! I feel so good about turning that patch of sandy dirt around! In the pic you can still see the junk that's in each of the corners. I still can't believe that we dug up a door - a DOOR! (Said with my best Gimli, "A mine!" voice, hehe)
