Rewind: March 11, 2012

Jamie

A while back when we were helping Mom clean slides we found so many treasures, including this pic. I have many fond memories of summer trips to Sauble Beach. That's me, looking a bit tentative in the blue shirt, with Mom smiling beside me. Dad is holding Robbie's hand. In front are family friends Jennifer and Sharon and their mom, Gwennie.

Warning! Movie Spoiler Ahead!

Yesterday Reg and I had a nice lazy day and watched The Wrath of Khan. It had been a while and I had forgotten that this was the "sad one" I can barely get through... but I did. And, as usual, I cried.

I remember that when I saw it as a kid that Jason asked on the way home, "Dad, did you cry when Spock died?" Dad responded, "Of course."

That memory is always with me. It revealed a lot about Dad that I love and respect. It also made me feel better that when it comes to sadness in stories, I cry. I cry a lot.

I love that story, Suzie. I had forgotten it but it was so present again when you told it. That's really important.

And I love seeing the poster/cover, lol! That makes me see what a rewind Wrath of Khan really is! We rewatched it recently too. I think it's my favourite of the Star Trek movies.

Oh wow! I guess that's Gwennie's husband taking the photo? That really captures the time period and our early growing up years, although I think this is pre-Suzie time. It's lovely Jamie, thank you so much for sharing it. I adore everyone you post. What treasures.

Glad you liked the story about Dad. I keep that with me always, it meant so much to me.

It is a rewind isn't it?! It's the 30th anniversary of the movie, man, can't believe that. It's my favourite for sure, even though I rarely watch the end, LOL. They seem to be all on Netflix. I think we're going to watch them all but obviously out of order since this was the first one we watched.
