Jamie

This weekend Justin and I did a bit of a walkabout for errands and also to have a look at what other people have done with their fences. It's amazing how many decisions have to be made about something that generally, you take for granted. (How high? How much privacy? Lattice? What kind of gate?) Along the way we bumped into this cat who, even from this far away, caught our eye with his jaunty walk, heading straight for us.

I think my cat likes the fringe benefits of the long drawn out unpack aka the attack vs The Stuff I've been doing over the past several weeks. This box was perfectly shaped for him being long and skinny and there was a moment of temptation to keep it, which quickly went away when I reminded myself of all the little bits of cardboard I'd have to clean up as he chews & scratches boxes. I did let him play (and sleep) in it for a while though.

Well I was doing so well with my anxiety. I got over my fear of bringing the iPad into the kitchen. Figured out how to prevent it from turning off after just 2 minutes so it was on long enough for me to make a recipe. I used PC Celeb margarine to bake. I am kind of freaked by margarine...

Then last night someone knocked on our door and tried to get in. Again! This is the third time it's happened over the last few months so we did our civic duty and called the cops. Of course as soon as they realized the door was locked, whoever it was had taken off.

I really didn't think I'd have to worry about this crap here but it shows you have you to be careful everywhere. I just don't want to end up a paranoid freak.

Oh, Suzie, that's awful. That would totally freak me out too. It's completely normal to be unnerved by things like that! What did the cops say?

I'm glad you're iPad can now be your kitchen companion. How cool is that!
I never use margarine. How did you find it worked in the recipe?

Gobo is so cute!! I think it's a good plan to keep him in the good books by having some play time but not some chew time with that box. I'm thoroughly enjoying the Shannon versus The Stuff series and wow, you are making awesome progress!

Cat with a jaunty walk, I love it! And it's true, fences do make a difference. I know that if we had a fence like yours that allowed for privacy I would spend more time in my backyard, big time. But then it would block out the sun...

Shannon, I am glad Gobo got to enjoy that space for a while but think you were wise to let it go. I am with Jamie, your project of taking on stuff is so interesting and I love everything you post about it. Love seeing the difference you are making to your space.

So it's not just me Jamie? It is scary, isn't it. And the fact it keeps happening, like someone is doing monthly rounds bothers me too. I am glad Reg is home at night now but it's stressing us out.

The cops did catch a ring of thieves a few weeks ago that were responsible for almost 30 breakins in our area but they are all in jail now so it has to be someone different. It's weird but a part of me feels like it's paranormal but I know to my sisters you will know that's how I think, LOL. I keep getting the feeling the family wants back in this house. Well they can buy it in a year and a half!

The margarine was a huge success! And it's full of omegas but doesn't smell bad. Reg's cholesterol isn't as low as mine and he eats more cookies than me so I can feel less guilty about baking now and it's so much cheaper than butter.

I feel that way about using the yard too, Suzie. It's lovely to be able to say hi and such but I'll definitely use our yard more if it feels like a private sanctuary.

That's awful about the ring of thieves - though very good that the cops were able to catch them. Phew! Maybe this will help them realize there are stragglers out there.

That's great news about the margarine. Who knew? That's why we have Suzie the Foodie to test things out!

Yup, sanctuary is my preference too Jamie.

The cops here are excellent at catching people here which is a comfort.

I would have never known about using the Celeb if they have not given me a big tub for free! The cookies were so good too, like Subway cookies. Yum!
