Jamie

One of the many good things about having a garden is there's always something to take a picture of! Gardens are also great keepers of time. They teach you both patience and presence. There's always something different in the garden. The seasons are expressed in the garden. And fruit and flowers take time to arrive. My garden has been my teacher.

Shannon

I did a fair amount of planning earlier in the week and felt like I had it all sorted out. Amazing how it didn't turn out at all like I planned. Ah well, there is always next week!

Suzie

Well I did it! Yesterday I did the foodie tutorial and have even been working on putting the first cooking lessons together. I hope it will be done by next week. The editing is a lot of work but the videotaping was not as awkward as I thought it was going to be. Who knew that my double sink would be the perfect place to put my tripod?! One side for cooking, the other side for prep. My chicken butchering was a bit of a disaster though, took quite a while. But I did it!

I'm so excited to hear that the Cooking School is underway Suzie! I can't wait to see it and am thrilled to hear some things turned out perfectly, even if others where challenging - you still did it!

Wow, Suzie, that's fantastic! I can't wait for the first lesson. I'm kinda glad it won't be ready until next week so that I can go out and get my chicken! I'm totally going to play along with that one. I'm going to email you today about a time to school-chat :)

Yay for plans, but I totally get it that sometimes they don't work out. I definitely see that you can get gold stars for TNG!

Oh, and I'll add that I think that having some challenges with cutting up the chicken will give people more courage to give it a go. They get to see what it's really like to try and get 'er done!

Sounds like the garden is a good teacher Jamie! And we were all steeped in learning this week... ah... post-Labour-Day week rode strong!

Jamie, I envy your relationship with your garden! And what a lovely and artistic shot. :) You made me realize that my garden is a teacher to. I have learned that I am not a harvester. The bluejays stole my blueberries and it made me happy. For some reason, I didn't want to eat them. I guess gardening for me is about sharing with the animals.

Shannon, oh yes, the universe loves to chuckle at our attempts to plan but I am always impressed with your dedication to doing so. Yes, gold star for Shannon!

Thank you both! Yes, I did it, and that is the important thing. No one will doubt my lack of strength when watching me struggle with the chicken now, LOL.

Oh good, glad to know the timing is good Jamie! I was hoping for that so people would go out and get the ingredients and pick up a chicken.

Awesome Jamie! Looking forward to hearing from you. I have a psycho schedule next week during the day so if night talking is OK with you, I can give it a try. Or morning talking. I will be woozy for both though!
