Jamie

Ever since I was a girl I loved the delights of pomegranates.
This Christmas I found a little note in my stocking, "Look in the fridge!"
A little elf had wrapped and dropped off this beauty in my fruit drawer.

Weekend watching for reviewing this weekend included just Abduction with out Twi-wolf TayTay. Usually I see more, but that was the only one that made it to the door this week. I also saw some b-movies like Mega Piranha that were very, very entertaining.

For the most part, it was freezing this weekend. I made Janet & Greta Podleski Looneyspoons' Obi Wonton Kenobi soup on Friday and we lived on it all weekend. I did have to go out yesterday to pick up milk and wish I could have just stayed inside all day.

LOL, I seriously love the name of that soup, Suzie! And it looks like the perfect antidote to that freezing weather!

I'm still laughing about Mega Piranha. Was the piranha huge or did it just have a big impact?

The Podleski sisters are the best aren't they?! I had to make it with a name like that.

Shannon, I would love to watch those crazy movies with you some day!

Jamie, I love the Christmas magic pomegranate story, that's awesome.

How wonderful to see you all here in one place - and under the Willow Tree no less (Weeping Willows are my FAVE tree)!

I will admit straight up that I've never quite understood the Pomegranate. I love the role it plays in the Hecate/Persephone/Demeter myth - but I have no idea how you actually EAT one. How magical that you love such a fertile fruit Jamie ... it's exactly what I imagine a Creativity Goddess enjoying.

Shannon ~ I am not a movie watcher, I think I'd prefer to read in the time it takes to sit through a film. So I love that I can keep up-to-date with what's on through you. You've saved me more than once in social conversation, I actually have something to contribute to conversation from time to time vs going mute when the topic of movies comes up.

Suzie - I can't wait to make that Won Ton Soup!! Thank you so much also for detailing the steps of won ton wrapping. That's something ELSE I've never done before.

Goodness - when I get around you three I feel like such a newb. So grateful you're friendly!!

We grew up with a weeping willow as a constant companion and this is our way of revisiting that beautiful tree!

Sally, I wish I had some elegant tips for eating a pomegranate. I just open up with a little cut and peel back again and again to reveal those beautiful red seeds - and then I eat them like popcorn, hehe. What a delight!

Oh - Jamie pulling out the smarts on the Piranhas! They had Mega-Impact :) It was sooooo much fun, I giggle just thinking about it.

How awesome to share a sister recipe of soup with your sisters! Sounds like a perfect remedy to a blustery day, Suzie!

Wow, Sally I am so touched by your comment - that means so much to me! I'm thrilled to hear you are contributing to movie conversations :)

and YAY for being friendly :) Woohoo!

Jamie - oddly enough, when I was a kid, I got a pomegranate in my stocking instead of the more common orange. It was the only time of year I ever got one! We've continued the tradition of having a pomegranate at Christmas time! :) Love your new blog guys - so much fun!

That's so cool, Tammy. I love knowing we're sharing pomegranates at Christmas! ((hugs))

Thanks Sally! And give yourself some time to enjoy wonton-making. Put on some music, listen to the radio (that's what I always do) or get others involved and enjoy it. It does take a while but is totally worth.

Did you really Tammy? That is such a cool tradition. Love pomegranates and they are so good for you! Thanks for visiting Tammy and for supporting us as you always do. You rock!
