Jamie

A while ago Justin suggested that we put up some of my garden photography in the kitchen. That meant so much to me! This weekend we went out and got prints and frames and yesterday we worked on what will go where. Soon, they'll be up!

I was very excited to see that Yes Please! by Amy Poehler had come through the long waiting list at the library. I started this book last year, but didn't finish it before it poofed! and returned to the library. I really enjoy the part that I had read, and think you would both probably like it. I'm really happy to be reading more non-fiction this year, with about one a month (up from 2 in the WHOLE year last year). Fun times.

Suzie

I was so excited to get Amanda Palmer's book but as I try and read it I realized, I don't have issues with asking for help. In fact, I asked for a lot of help for my blog's big giveaway and was very excited about it and invigorated. I don't like asking for help when I am sick but I do. I wish the book was more about just her and not this issue because I love her but I'm not interested in the issue. Still, it's Amanda Palmer. I love her!

Shannon, I'm so curious - what's the book about? I'm glad you got to dive into it again!

Suzie, when I saw you were reading that my first thought was, "Suzie will love her!" Yay you for not having problems asking. That rocks!

Oh Jamie, your photos look beautiful and good for Justin for recommending you put them out. They're stunning and should be shared! :)

I'm a big fan of Amanda Palmer in general and am loving reading about her life so it's all good. BTW, I had no idea I was good at asking. I think I have been learning to ask ever since I got sick.

How exciting Jamie! I love that you are showcase your photography and bringing the garden in year-round. I know it's going to look amazing!!! Flowers, flowers and more flowers to enjoy every day :)

Wow Suzie that's awesome you don't have any issues with asking for help (any tips for us less ask-y? ;). It's so exciting that your blog giveaway is just around the corner, I'm so curious to see what it will be about! Woohoo! YAY for book day too :)

Yes Please is a memoir by Amy Poehler, she's and actor and comedian (was on ...possibly still is on... Saturday Night Live). It's memoir-y, a lot so far about performing and becoming who you want to be. I love that it's full of energy and sometimes can be haphazard, and it's got comedy elements so there are jokey bits too so it's a bit all over the place but I'm really enjoying it. It's not the best to read on Kobo because there are lots of pictures. I was tempted to get a print copy, but the my library one came in. She narrates the audiobook which sounds like an awesome option too. I was impressed by her when she and Tina Fey hosted the Golden Globes, they were great. Outspoken, energetic and on point. Hopefully I finish it this time now!

Just got word that there will be THREE Magic Bullets being given away on my blog. OMG!!! You both have to check it out over the long weekend. Terrible timing for a give-away but what can you do.

I tried ready the Tina Fey autobiography and she is amazing but clearly very self-aware of her cleverness. It got a little tired to read because it was so polished and unemotional. Her and Amy were quite the force on Saturday Night Live when they did the news reports together. I hope Parks & Rec comes to Netflix one day, I will totally watch it because of her.

Whoa! That's one heck of a giveaway, I will definetely check it out. Way to go Suzie!

I found Amy to be pretty emotional, not over the top, but also very clever. It looks like other people contribute too, which makes it a bit of an odd memoir. I didn't know was on Parks & Rec! I'll have to keep an eye on that. So funny, I always miss all the comedy folk because I....don't watch comedy!
