Jamie

Yesterday I could really feel the energy of the new year. I've started reorganizing and creating little moments of beauty and calm throughout the house. In the kitchen, I managed to adjust this tray so it holds s only seasoning and tea. I found a new home for the cat food etc., which is still close and easy to grab. I'm working on creating a sense of winter in the studio and I installed the lovely grow-light we got for plants in the bedroom - hopefully high enough that the cats won't jump up. This may mean I can actually have a few plants in the house!

Shannon

Whelp, this wasn't the pic I was going to share but alas: My January To Be Read books that are Tree Books. And I forgot one. Go me. BUT... I may or may not have picked this but was ended up choosing from stuff I posted on Facebook because as I was copy/pasting pictures of the day from my phone (which I want to do as a daily practice this year), somehow all the pictures POOFED! I think I hit "Undo" in the New Folder after pasting, and then ...somehow they were no where. Not of my phone, no in the new folder, not in the recycle bin. It feels like one of those cautionary tales of "Be Careful What You Ask For" because technically I am "complete" on my pictures to-do, but that is because there is nothing I can do. Anyhoo, nothing super amazing was taken that wasn't shared I think so hopefully it's just on to new pictures tomorrow.

Suzie

Not happy one bit about this weather. Reg helped me get to the library which is NOT close, especially when you're walking on a few inches of ice on the sidewalks. Vancouver is doing NOTHING to help the situation which is just getting worse now that we are in a deep freeze. At least I had happy news about enrolling in the Gordon Ramsay Masterclass, that rocked. Everything else? Bit.

Sounds like a great day Jamie! Contemplative and very "aware"-oriented organizing which is awesome.

Shannon, may that be the only thing Mercury Retrograde does to you before it goes direct! I managed to put back together the handle of my food processor that broke but I had three other things break recently, two of which Reg did by accident. It's been a crazy time.

Creating little moments of beauty... now *that* is the way to start a new year Jamie! I think it's lovely to do with with tea and seasoning and also to help your plants! I hope they do well with the new light :)

I'm so sorry to hear that the weather and ice has been such a barrier Suzie. I saw some of the pictures online and it looks horrible, but also sounds like some help is on the way. How wonderful that you are taking the Gordon Ramsey class! I hope it's amazing. Can't wait to hear all about it!!

And hopefully that's the only affect from Mercury Retrograde!! I'm sorry so many things have been breaking recently Suzie. It's days like this I reach for metal bowls and melamine plates!

Shannon, wow, what a great set of books! That may not be the pic you wanted but boy, it's an inspiring one. I hope you enjoy the reads!

Suzie, that sucks about the weather. OMG though that hat ROCKS!!

Bit of a bumpy start so far...

It's totally unacceptable the state our hood is in. We're pretty well trapped without risking breaking bones out there because we can't get the car out of the driveway or the alley.

Thanks! At least my hat cheers people up a little. And if I had non-breakables, I would totally use them, LOL.
