Jamie

I spent the day immersed in my newsletter and thinking about words. I'm working on really getting clear on how to communicate the studio to people who are absolutely new to it. When I asked people to share their thoughts on what brings them to the studio, I was blown away by the generosity of and the love in their answers. It filled my heart.

Shannon

I feel like I've been with Tender is the Night for so long now. It's only been just over 3 months but it's been quite the bumpy ride. I finally got my vlog about it up and it feels good to start to draw this one to a close.

Suzie

Last night we went out to a geek TV night. They show TV shows and you can have dinner together. We hit terrible traffic trying to get there and it was very stressful. It was an unusual collective experience because it was fun and yet at the same time, uncomfortable. It is clear people have been doing this for a long time together. I grow weary of trying to find my tribe. All I kept thinking was, I did my hair and makeup for this? I could have shot a video! LOL. Well I guess those are my priorities these days.

Those words are such gifts! And look, so positive, of course. :) You touch so many people Jamie.

Shannon, so glad that book is done. I was surprised about all the isms that you mentioned in your vlog. Yeah, I am going to pass on this one although I am impressed with how many words you had to look up.

Oh! How interesting Shannon and I were both focusing on words. Shannon, it seems like Tender is the Night has been a focal point for such great stuff! That's awesome.

I'm amazed by all the things there are to experience near you, Suzie! I'm sorry it was uncomfortable. It's always weird to step into something when it's new to you and so very familiar for everyone else. I experience that when I got to choir, for example. It can take time to settle in.

LOL, you could always do a video first and then go ;) Shannon and I talk about that hair and makeup video-readiness all the time!

Yay for being wordy!!!

It's true, there is so much to participate with here, it can be overwhelming. I hope you're connecting at Choir Choir because I know how much you love it.

I found another group I might give a shot. It's new so everyone will be new to it which I think will help.

Oh I only have energy these days for one thing but it's true, I'll keep that in mind next time.

That is so beautiful Jamie the wonderful thoughts and words people shared on what brings them to the studio. And I absolutely love this image too, I can't quite figure out if it's transparent or something, but it looks totally cool!

And omg, yes... words are on the brains these days!

Doing a video first... great idea! Make that hair and make up multipurpose! I can imagine attending something where people have known each other a can be a challenge, especially figuring out the dynamics and such. Any group thing can have it's quirks, it can be challenging to find the vibe. Do they watch new stuff, or older? I think Marina used to go to something like that. I'm impressed by how much you are trying!

Oh.. and yes, Suzie, the isms in the book where definitely unexpected and a bit of a challenge. Given the book is 80 years old, I guess retrospectivelly I shouldn't be surprized but I was. And so many words! I've not looked them up yet, just wrote them down...if I looked them up while reading I'd certainly not be done yet, hehe!

It's hard being here so on my own so I thought I would give it a shot. Thanks Shannon! It hasn't been easy. That's going to be quite the wordy project Shannon!
