Jamie

It was a big day yesterday! Shannon and I found and braved a fabric store.  I even picked a pattern (the one you see here) and, with Shannon's help, some fabric. Though I have never, ever thought I would sew it still reminded me of how I always loved, loved, loved the piles of fabric that Mom would have. They were always inspiring to me. And pattern books - YUM! I'm looking forward to this crazy adventure.

Suzie

I had the day to myself yesterday and have been waiting patiently to go to Maxim's Bakery. I used to go there all the time when we lived in Vancouver before for their Mexican Buns. I had been waiting until there was a day I could stop by and pick up some buns and enjoy them at home. I made it back just before the rain started. It was just as I remembered it. Sweet, soft with a beautiful crust on top. Wonderful.

That dress pattern looks awesome Jamie! I like the look of this fabric store, may I ask which one you went to? I'm trying to get the courage to go to one right after Halloween and get some deals.

Oh, what a treat, Suzie! That's awesome that you can revisit some old haunts.

I really like the dress pattern - though looking at it now I thought if I wear it on the subway I better have tights on, LOL! I'll email you about the store.

Hehe, I totally posed for that pic! It was so exciting to go to the fabric store Jamie, they had a pretty good selection and so awesome they had patterns to boot. I would love to spend hours and hours looking at all the fabrics, so much to choose from!

That bun sound delectable delicious Suzie! I am so glad it was worth the wait.
