Jamie

Yesterday I forgot an ingredient on the shopping list and that sent me to the store - harumph - but it turned out to be awesome because when I got there I saw they had white tulip and white daffodil bulbs!! And as if that wasn't good enough I bumped into one of my all-time favourite cats in the hood on the way home, Shortie the Tortie. We had a very good cuddle! It's wonderful when lemons turn to lemonade!

Shannon

It's feels officially summer to fall crossover day when it's the night of the Big Brother Finale. I won't say more because..you know all how I feel about spoilers!

Suzie

Reg and I went out for a couple of walks yesterday and one of them took us to a local butcher shop and I bought this chicken pot pie. Which I totally baked wrong! Raw dough on the bottom, scorched on the top. Despite screwing that up (totally my fault) it was awesome getting to know one of the many butchers in the hood.

Yup! That's right Shannon and this move to Vancouver I managed to get to see a lot of it and watch the finale, which I missed in Season 1. Shows you how long ago I moved to BC the first time!

Yep, it's officially fall now! I'm glad we got to watch the finale live together, Shannon - and that you got to see it, Suzie!

Wow, that's an awesome looking pot pie! That's great you have a butcher nearby!

Late add from me.

Jamie, are you making up these names? OMG, because that is just too adorable! I'm glad there was a consolation prize for having to go out again. What a beautiful cat!

I'm curious, did you two like BB this season? Or am I the only one who wanted to strangle Frankie and was overall totally bored most of the time because the women for the most part were so ineffective?

I screwed up the pie in the oven due to being impatient. Oh well!

Yep, I always name the cats - unless they have a tag that has their name, like Pickle and Nova. I call Shortie, Shortie the Tortie because she's tiny - and a tortie!

As for BB, it's always disappointing to me when the women can't come together - for sure! But I also was absolutely amazed by the sheer perfection of Derrick's game. I think he's the best player ever.

Shortie the Tortie is back! What a cutie pie she is. Gotta love torties, one day one of use has got to get one! You never know what forgotten ingredients can lead to!

That's so cool you have multiple local butchers Suzie, although I'm sorry to hear the cooking of the pot pie didn't go well.

If I had known it was unofficially a foodie related day, I would have posted something else!!

Wow Suzie you watched the first season of BB in Vancouver? Holy moly!

I went back and forth with BB this summer, I liked it early on, I really liked Donnie and Nicole, the parts they showed of Jury House were fascinating, and Derrick was impeccable. I initially really liked Frankie but at some point that really changed. I wish the women had more of a stronger role, there were very few women-made moves. But I am happy with the overall result.

Oh I love that you name the cats! Well, most of them.

Derrick's game was good, I'll give him that. But, for me, it was boring to watch.

I liked Donny so much!

And yes, I remember finding out the winner of BB1 while camping under the Lions Gate Bridge. It was in a newspaper that Reg brought in our tent, LOL.
