Jamie

I've been feeling slightly better and more than slightly restless so I thought it was time to get back to art day! Shannon and I really enjoyed Flora Bowley's lesson in Life Book. It was all about layering and using unconventional materials instead of brushes. Everything here was used to put paint on our page. I'm excited about continuing to work with all I learned from Flora.

Shannon

Art Day! These 2 pieces turned out so different than I expected, especially the dark one. I was a little resistant to using black (and definitely resistant to using white), but I really like how it turned out. Fun times.

Suzie

Reg and I took a day off and went down to Granville Island to check out some tug boats that were at the harbour. Reg noticed this woman rowing with her dog working so diligently keeping an eye on the bridge. It was so cute, I am glad I got a photo of it!

What a wonderful idea! I absolutely love it and that photo is gorgeous. I am also going to look into that video, sounds right up my alley, thanks Jamie!

I think you'd really like this class, Suzie, especially because she uses a lot of food! I'd love to see what you create with this technique!

What a fun outing. You can just feel the diligent attention of the dog. I know I said this on Facebook but it's so great to see you there instead of enduring storm warnings on the east coast. Phew!

Exactly! Food and creativity? My favourite combo!

Thanks Jamie, it's so nice at this time of year to have gentle weather and not be worried about the house blowing down too, LOL. Hugs!

It was so great to get back to art day-ing Jamie! And it was wild to work this these materials. I loved working with the sage, it felt so cool and smelt delightful.

Wow, that's an awesome picture Suzie! I was so scared you were gong to say next the dog was in the water, but I see now it had a job to do. Go go dog!

Late add from me, and retrospectively, I wish I put up an after picture of the 'tools' for art day!

Wow Shannon, those are both wild! I love seeing how they turned out. :) The black is really dramatic.

The sage was really awesome! It was great having lovely scents added to the art-making experience!

Shannon, your paintings look great. In this shot the black sage print looks almost like spread peacock feathers!

Thank you both so much! It's wild to see the paintings at a bit of a distance, it's amazing what a difference that can make.

OH I do see a bit of peacock feathers there, cool!!!
