Jamie

Back to my regular schedule in the studio means back to early mornings and wow, you can sure feel the season changing. It's back to getting up in the dark. Luckily, I get to witness this and that makes it just a little better :)

Shannon

Yesterday was a long, long, long day. Actually felt more like 3 separate days instead of one! I am sure after a time my memory of it will be a fuzzy as this picture!

Suzie

My first day of art school was a bit of an emotional roller coaster. I went in all smiles and happy but soon realized that even though I tried to participate in the conversations going on, people were getting a weird vibe from me or something. They all grouped together far away from me, making conversation uncomfortable. I felt alienated almost immediately.

To watch the teacher required standing above her and I was in terrible pain immediately. I found a way to watch sitting down thanks to a nice guy in the class but it was too late. It hurt like crazy. I realized I probably wasn't going to make friends in the class and focused on this being fun whimsical Suzie time. Everything else is icing on the cake.

Sounds like it was a long day for everyone yesterday!

Shannon, I love how you turned a fuzzy photo into a metaphor. I hope you get to rest up from such a demanding day.

Suzie, I'm so sorry that it was challenging. I think it's great to just tune into your own Suzie time and let the rest develop as it may. Your foodie pics look so inviting. I love the blue cake! I'm so glad there was at least one nice person in the class to give you their seat. Yay you for being brave and going.

What a fiery morning but it's true! It's so much darker early in the morning I know. I'm up around 5 am every morning and the sun comes later and later.

Oh Shannon, that sounds like a long and hard day. I love the fuzzy photo.

Thanks Jamie. It was way tougher than I was expecting.

Wow Jamie that is an amazing sunrise, I don't know when the last time I saw a sight like that!

I'm sorry to hear that your first day at art school was such a rocky emotional ride. Next time, can you let the teacher know that you need to sit down to watch the demo? Standing is not a great way to start a class, I can imagine. First days can always be challenging, maybe you will connect with people more as time goes on. It's great you were able to make it Suzie time and be whimsical, that's sounds like the perfect thing right now.

And um... you're up at 5am Suzie? Wha?

I will be sitting at the front next time Shannon. I don't think it will be a problem. And yes, I'm not sleeping anymore. Up at all hours now.
