Jamie

Yesterday was a big family celebration for David's birthday and a real treat because Chris is here.  It was so special to have everyone together. We had a wonderful time.

Shannon

I've been continuing to create drawings while watching movies. I really get inspired, but it does pull me away from the film and sometimes I have to rewind to re-watch bits and pieces. But, for this one I really like how the drawing turned out so it was totally worth it.

Suzie

Took me quite a while to photograph this brooch in a way that makes me happy. I really appreciate your comment about my latest Etsy idea Jamie. I think I'm going to write the publication (I'll comment on that later when I feel better). This brooch is the first time jewelry really spoke directly to me of its magic and meaning. I was out with mom and dad on my birthday and we were at some kind of flea market sale, I think in a mall. I fell in love with this brooch because the rhinestones reminded me of garnet, my birthday crystal. I could stop admiring it. The guy at the booth heard it was my birthday and gave it to me for free. It had a missing rhinestone which mom quickly pointed out to me but I didn't care. This is one of the few talismans that have come into my life and I'm starting to understand why now, after all these years. I don't hold onto a lot of things but this? This I could not let go of. I'm so glad I still have it.

Shannon, it's great to see all of your drawings. I can almost hear the voice of the person making this statement just from what you've created!

Suzie, what a powerful story. That is a talisman indeed! It has brought you all the way from there to here. What a blessing that he gave you this brooch as a gift. I think there's significance in that too! Your photo is beautiful and it feels like "home" to me. ((bighugs))

I LOVE seeing the photos of all of you together Jamie and having fun family time. That is a beautiful thing, thank you for sharing.

Damn Shannon, I am so impressed! How amazing the art is connecting with your love of film and you tap into it while it's on. It's like you are doing film illustration which is absolutely fascinating.

Jamie, isn't it amazing? That brooch has been with me since we moved to Toronto. I didn't get a birthday party because I had one in Montreal so I guess Mom and Dad took me out as a treat. It was also the day I got my sad/blue stuffed elephant which I kept for years and years. I wish I took a photo like you did.

Oh the photo feels like home? That's wonderful! It feels almost Latvian to me.

Wow Suzie, that's a powerful story! Jewelry is really speaking to you these days and I think it's amazing how much you can hear and live the stories past, present and future that resonate with it to you. So powerful!
