Jamie

Yesterday I was feeling rather poorly and tried the best I could to have a gentle day. One big and challenging task was on the agenda and that was taking Escher to the vet. He was terrified. Justin managed to get him in the carrier but before we even got in the room with the vet, Escher had peed with fear. Luckily they were gentle with him, cleaned him all up and gave him his shots. The vet had a good look at him and said he seems to be doing well, though maybe weights just a titch more than he should. We talked about his nervous ways but also the progress he's made. When we got home he hid under the couch for about 10 minutes but then he even let me pet him. I had a big aha that made me feel better. Being scared of scary things (like going to the vet) is perfectly normal. As long as he's not transmuting that into a fear of everything, including us, then I think he's doing well.

Shannon

I have been obsessed with doing the fill-in-squares-with-gel-pens funness, but today I ran out of painted squares! And was not feeling up to painting, which is sad but true. Solution: make a black-out version. Now I have a big big page to fill. Fun times.

Suzie

Got out to my library to pick up first season of Penny Dreadful, thanks for the recommendation Shannon! Also got groceries which felt like it took forever and took the life out of me but it's done. I have also started watching Nashville at night and am shocked at how much I am enjoying it! That young little blonde singer has the voice of an angel, reminds me how much I do like folksy music. The country? I skip a lot of it, LOL. Interesting stories though.

I love that, Shannon! Did you do that on a magazine? You're making me want to do one just liek that. What fun! Way to find inspiration from dealing with constraints. Enjoy!

Suzie, Shannon recommended Nashville to me too and I got totally hooked. I enjoyed every minute of it, even the country songs. Have fun with your new shows!

Oh poor little Escher! And good point. He actually had a normal reaction to the experience but it did not get projected onto you. That's huge progress. Yay for a good bill of health for him but tough stuff when you're not feeling super great Jamie.

OK, I had no idea how you did that Shannon! But I know that I love it. Very cool.

Mom would be thrilled we are all watching Nashville! She tried to get me to watch that show forever and she was right, it's very entertaining. Thanks! It's wonderful to have stuff to watch at night.

Oh, Escher.. what a guy. I'm sorry he got so scared! But you are right.. being scared of scary things is very normal. And he looks completely content here in this gorgeous picture :)

I'm so jealous of your library Suzie! That's so great you can get Penny Dreadful that way. I'm trying to place who the 'young blond' in Nashville is... one of the sisters? I hope you enjoy it! It's a crazy addictive shows. OH you mean Scarlett? She's magic. MAGIC.

I did make the grid in a magazine! I used your blackout technique Jamie! I was a page that was mostly grey, but I covered up all the text that was on there in Sharpie. I still have to go over it with gel pens. That's going to be FUN! But it's a large space so might take a while.

Shannon, I can't believe the things I can get at the library and we've just finished disc 2 of Penny Dreadful and OMG! So good!

The young blonde is the writer who sings with the young male country singer. I think she is the niece of the main lead guy?

Ah, yes... That's Scarlett. With the long wavy blonde hair. She sings a lot with Gunner. And yes, she is Deacon's niece. I'm so glad you are liking it. And likely Penny Dreadful! Talk about 2 shows with a very different tones, lol!

Scarlet!!! I'm so bad with names but you're right, she is pure magic. Now I want to listen to that CD from the show, just for her. I know, you couldn't get two shows more different could you?
