June 2, 2016

Jamie

The highlight of yesterday was Justin coming home after a week in Curacao with his dad. I have been busy working but I have still missed him so very much. Luckily, I have had Scout to keep me company ;)

Shannon

Before I turned my calendar to June I had to smile at how many Gold Stars I got this month. I hope June goes just as well.

Suzie

A rare day Reg and I were both home so we went and played squash. He won the first game and believe it or not, I won the second! Best workout ever. It reminds me of how I used to hit tennis balls against the garage door all summer when I was a young girl. Something so satisfying about it, so freeing. Just hope my hands don't hurt tomorrow.

Wow, look at you both celebrating physical activity! I feel like we should give out some... omg, what's it called? The athletics badges and pins they gave out when we were kids?

WTG, Shannon, that's a lot of gold stars. You really rocked May. I know you can do it in June too.

Suzie, that's amazing. Yay you for not only playing but even beating Reg in a game! I hope it felt good to whack that squash ball! I remember those summer days of tennis balls against the garage door. I can hear the sound now. Did you ever go to Elkhorn and play against the wall? Remember, they even had a line up to indicate the net.

Was Scout on catnip?! OMG, what a cutie! I had no idea Justin had been away Jamie, so glad he is back home with you and hope he had a great trip.

Way to go Shannon!!! Oh and it was the damn Canada Fitness Test with the badges Jamie, that one still stings. But awesome job Shannon!!!

One thing I love about squash is how crazy it can be, unlike tennis which is so linear. I do like sports that have short bursts of movement, like volleyball, those things I can actually do and my hand was only a little sore this morning.

OMG, I must have made such a "racket" for those inside the house all summer long. Mom eventually bought me a tennis ball on a string probably because of that. Yes, I used to play at Elkhorn but there were too many bullies that gave me a hard time so I mostly stayed at home instead. I loved doing it and would love to do it again. Completely meditative for me.

Oh my goodness, that is a super cute picture of you and Scout, Jamie! He looks more than happy to keep you company! I'm so glad that Justin is home, I know you missed him oodies!

I can hear the rhythm of your hitting tennis balls against the garage door, Suzie! Glad to hear you got out and enjoyed some physical activity , and won a game too. Woohoo!

Hahahah.. Canada Fitness Test badges. Oh man, that was not a fun experience. I didn't even get a badge, "participation" was only a ribbon. What a way to make people feel set apart, lol. I make my own badges now, huzzah!

I realize now as an adult that constant banging probably wasn't fun to listen to in the house which is probably why Mom finally got me one that was attached to a giant elastic.

Ah that sucks about the ribbon Shannon! And yay for making your own badges!
