January 14, 2016

 Jamie

The cats are very much enjoying the snow. They love hanging out and watching it fall. Though one time we had a bit of ice pellets and wind and that kind of freaked them out! Every day I am amazed by how at home they have become. It's such a joy.

Shannon

I just finished the book Ongoingness, after being inspired to read it from it popping up on Brainpickings top books of 2015. It's a fascinating look at keeping a diary, and has quite an unusual style being a collection of short thoughts and reflections of keeping a diary for many, many years. It's a very different perspective that got my mind very really engaged from reading it.

Suzie

I made it to Open Studio. I only stayed an hour and a half but I did it.

Way to go Suzie! I am so glad to hear you were able to make it out to open studio and I think it's so cool that you are working from your own photo, that's being innovative!!

What an awesome picture of the cats Jamie! It must be so exciting to see them get to see what each of the seasons is like for the first time :)

It sounds like a thought-provoking book, Shannon! I'm so curious about it.

And wow, Suzie, that painting is beautiful! I find it really evocative, like it's beautiful but slightly sad and forlorn. Yay you for going to the open studio and bringing something to work on. I think that's kick-ass!

I can see how the freezing rain would be more frightening for the cats since it is noisy and faster. So glad they're enjoying the snow and being at home there!

Thank you Jamie. It's based on a photograph of a rose I photographed in November, trying to bloom during the beginning of winter.
