What a treat to get out last night to hear the wonderful Judy Blume talk about her most recent book. There were so many people there that we were only able to get tickets for the atrium, where you viewed the event on a screen. Still, there was no distance between us and the feeling of the moment. It was clear how many lives have been touched and changed by this woman's work. Thank you, Judy, for sharing your gifts.
I finished a Book to Film Challenge title on time! Oh my goodness, I didn't think it would be so hard to fit these suckers into the months allotted. I loved putting my list together, but it's some pressure to follow through. All things considered I've finished 4/6 so far and I do hope to finish the other 2. And more importantly I really enjoyed The Jungle Book. I was suprized to see it's not all Mowgli-centric, but there are lots of different stories. Some that I adored, and a just a few that I wasn't so fond of. A great read and as it turns out my 50th read of the year, huzzah!

Monday was a very busy day (after a night of no sleep because of the heat and having an ear infection) getting the sleep gear back to the clinic and then rushing home to get my article done for the banana bread launch. I hope all my hard work shows because I put everything into it and crashed for the afternoon.

You do such an amazing amount of reading, Shannon! I'm sorry I can't keep up with the book to film challenge. I still have a bit of Black Beauty to go! Jungle Book is definitely on my list though and I'm so glad that you enjoyed it! I'm so curious about the different stories!
Suzie, I hope you had success with this round of sleep tests! When will you hear? And man, I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling so poorly and hope you get some rest soon. I'll look forward to reading about the banana bread launch!
Holy cow, Suzie, the pictures are phenomenal. Did you use your new camera?
Jamie, I am so happy you got to see Judy Blume! And that even though you weren't in the same room, you felt connected to her and her experience. I don't know what I would have done without Are You There God… growing up. I read everything of hers and she made me feel like I wasn't alone.
Shannon, way to go! 50 books is awesome and that's great you got through Jungle Book and mostly liked it. You are doing amazing!
Last time I heard within a week about the results but had to go to my doc to hear what they were so it's going to be at least a week probably. I took a TON of photos and am so glad I did because a lot of photos did not turn out. I'm still learning about the settings and how to edit them and when to use the food setting or the sport setting because when you only have so much time, sometimes those settings work better. But not always! As a result, I took a ton and used only the best ones and they turned out to be amazing! Not sure which they were though, LOL.
Wow that is so powerful that you got to see Judy Blume speak! Even if it was on a screen, it sounds like a wonderful experience. I am now totally wanting to read her adult books.
I'm finding it challenging to keep up with my own challenge, so no worries Jamie! I hope you enjoy the rest of Black Beauty and Jungle Book too! Both the animal books eh I see a theme there!
Your banana bread post rocked Suzie! I think your hard work really does show in it, and the pics are awesome. Sounds like the banana bread was too :)
