Jamie

Yesterday I woke up feeling poorly. I rested for most of the day and then took a gentle trip outside to the local market with Justin. What a treat! We came home with pulled pork sandwiches from a new organic butcher in the neighbourhood plus some fresh peas and raspberry jam. I was also incredibly impressed with two young guys who'd started their own juicing company and thoroughly enjoyed their lemon ginger concoction.

Shannon

Had quite a challenging day yesterday, including being rained on during the way home and therefore had to try out my socks! Meh!

Suzie

Yesterday we drove to New Glasgow to attend the wake of Reg's uncle. There was only 1 room left at the hotel and it had a king-sized bed which felt so decadent. Coming home I realized I had not been in a hotel room since we moved here over six years ago. I slept like crap but loved being away, even it if was for a sad occasion.

Ah... wet socks drying, symbolic of a rainy day - in lots of ways. May today be WAY better!

Jamie, so glad you managed to get out even though you were recovering and wow, that butcher sounds amazing! You are making me hungry.

Oh Shannon, wet socks are so sad. I'm sorry you had to go out in weather like that. :( I hope today was a big improvement.

I just got home so late add from me!

Sometimes it's so nice to get away, even if it's for such a sad occasion. Here's to a bit more decadence in our lives!

Thanks, Suzie. Sometimes even when you're not feeling well fresh air can be a blessing.

What a lovely time at the market Jamie and how wonderful to gently venture out on a day where you felt not so great. I wouldn't even think to try that!

Suzie I totally thought that was a picture of your place all ready for another showing. I'm glad that there was some relief during this time of grief.

So true Jamie! Getting away can be a nice break, no matter what. And yay to fresh air. Oh Shannon, that is so funny, our house does look a bit like a hotel these days, LOL.
