August 30, 2013

Jamie

We decided to start the celebrations for Justin's birthday early and spontaneously headed down to one of our favourite restaurants, Kalendar, We enjoyed getting back to the neighbourhood where we first dated, eating a great meal and sharing and creating wonderful memories.

Shannon

This is from earlier in the week, but I couldn't resist including it as how often do you get to see an elevator with the option to go SIDEWAYS instead of up? Totally cracked me up.

Suzie

I felt physically horrible yesterday. The last thing I wanted to do was go to the eye doctor for a check up and new glasses. They had a "deal" on and I just could not find frames I liked. I thought I was going to go for black frames but they just did not suit my face. I had selected the frames on the left and was all ready to go (hence the smile) but then I saw the photo of me wearing them, I hated them. I hated how dowdy they made me feel. By the time we found the grey and silver frames on the right, I was so done and now I am worried they don't look very good. It doesn't help that I hate how my hair looks too.

I wanted something that had character and an artistic element. I am glad I went with cooler tones because browner tones just washed me out. Ugh! So do you think I made a good decision?

Glasses are so hard to choose, so many elements (colour, shape, style, size, plastic vs metal, nosepads vs no nosepads, ugh!) and then they have to work with your prescription too.

I hate to say it, but I really like the ones on the left, especially the shape, I don't think they wash you out. But, if you don't like how they look then there is no reason to get them regardless of what anyone else says, they are yours and they have to work for you. I like the ones on the right too, they are a lot lighter and less noticiable. It's hard to tell a bit because you look happier in the right ones, so that's influencing it too. Shopping for them can be so hard, I hope it feels really good when you get them.

And the most important thing is that you will be able to see! I didn't know you still needed glasses!

Oh, and late add from me!

Sideways?! Never seen that one before Shannon! LOL. That is awesome.

Thank you for your honesty Shannon. It helped. I called to cancel the order. I just wasn't happy with them and I like my old glasses better so what's the point, right? I just hope they give me my money back OK. The opthomologist is calling me back. They did a hard sell job on me and I should have just walked away but I was so tired. Ugh. But thank you, that helps. A lot. Once I get my money back, I will feel much better.

Hey Suzie, I hope they do give you your money back and if not they should give you the glasses. It's better to feel good about the decision for sure. If you need a new prescription, you can always get new lenses in your old frames (provided if they aren't too heavy for the frames). I always forget about that option because I really like getting new frames.

I still really like the ones on the right :)

They haven't called back. I checked the bill, they really did give me a good deal. I'm not sure anymore. I suffer from strong buyers remorse and it was a lot of money but we will be getting a ton back. Ugh!

I cancelled the cancellation. Wow, I am struggling with the most basics of decision making right now.

Oh, Suzie, that's so painful! I'm sorry it's been such a struggle. I remember how helpful it was to me to hear the term "decision fatigue." It makes total sense that you would have that right now with so much stress and so many changes.

You are beautiful and both of the glasses look great. I think the ones you're going with have a cool editorial edge.

And Shannon, wow, that's hilarious. I'm imagining what it would be like to have elevators that go sideways. Hey maybe that would make it fast between our houses! At least until they invent teleporters.

Majorly late add for me.

Yes, decision fatigue, you got it Jamie. I was hoping for an editorial edge so that is helpful and thank you.

Love the photo of Justin! Great shot and sounds like you both had a great time yesterday celebrating his birthday, which rocks.

woohoo for starting to celebrate Justin's Bday early, Jamie! The more celebrations the better :)

I hope you end up with glasses you love, Suzie!
