Random Pic: June 8, 2014

Jamie

Now, this is pretty random. Justin came home from grocery shopping to find this cat sitting on our stoop! They had a nice cuddle and then the cat took off, eventually showing up in our backyard. We were keeping an eye out for him because he didn't seem like an outdoor cat. In fact, outdoor things seemed pretty new to him. I think he found his way home though because I heard my neighbour saying, "What are you doing out here? Get in the house, Charlie Brown!"

Shannon

Today's randomness brought to you but the extreme cat close up division.

Suzie

After the post you put up yesterday Jamie, I really wanted to share a photo of Jinx. She is my very first subject when I got my new camera. Hugs to you all.

Jamie

Yesterday we were able to start giving Jinx some pain medication to help her feel more comfortable in her creaky body. Shannon and I were making tea and chatting about how much better she seemed to be doing. She was alert, walking around, interested. And right before our eyes she started to have a kind of seizure - tremors in her head, walking around in a circle. It was so frightening. And then it passed, she went over and ate her dinner and then sat in her favourite spot, grooming!I'm delighted to say she seems to be okay this morning but I'm also conscious of appreciating the time that we have.

Shannon

Although I've been ordering this same option for dinner for years, this is the first time I got it with the number written on it.

What a day! Two home showings four hours apart so we were real gypsies on Friday and I decided that I was going to crochet at Starbucks. I'm working on my blue bird for the Woodland Creatures crochet class I signed up for and guess what? I am much better at crocheting in the afternoon when mostly conscious than at night when I can barely see straight, LOL. Go figure. Also, got AMAZING feedback from people about our house which was very healing. And the second group ate all my cookies and left a note saying "yummy" and "thank you". And we had a rainbow over our hood on the drive home. A much, much better day...

Jamie

Yesterday was a very full day. The very emotional highlight was stopping into the garden centre and finding this vinca. I've never seen vinca at any of the garden centres I go to and at ours, there was this one, just this one. Vinca is what mom asked me to plant on her grave. I think it is no accident that this showed up so near to the anniversary of her passing. I have planted it in our backyard for now and hope that it will grow hardy enough that I'll be able to keep a piece for myself while taking the rest to plant in Mom's garden.

Catuch up with the new AMC series Halt and Catch Fire. It's set during the 80's and about a group of people that try and create competition for IBM. Not totally convinced that I like it, but I'll continue to watch it for now. I'm feel very uncommited on new shows right now, which is very strange for me!

Suzie

Working on a secret foodie project for President's Choice and the timing could not have been worse. Yesterday was the day from hell but I managed to pull it off. Yay!

 Jamie

It's amazing how quickly some moments pass.  Just the other day I was excited by the buds on my tree peony, then delighted by the blooms and already they're starting to say goodbye. Even in their farewell, they are absolutely magnificent. I'm so glad to experience them each spring!

Shannon

Oh, these never get old. Cat has got l33t skills or I have no effect on making him not do things. Probably both.

Suzie

Thanks to one of the worst flares I have ever had, I spent the day with my butt on the couch and worked on this video. Man, I love working on videos. I just wish it wasn't so hard on my back but considering I had to give my leg a rest, it was worth it.

Jamie

The weather system was making my head totally wonky yesterday but it was surprisingly good to get out for a walk - especially to pick up ice cream! Added bonus was that we saw at least 5 cats along the way. Luckily I brought my camera - more Catz in the Hood!

Shannon

I'm a little off my game as I almost forgot to change my calender from May to June! I wasn't overly keen on the fish pictures that it had, so I've been making my own designs. It's been fun to do!

Suzie

Reg and I needed to burn off a little steam last night so we went to see a late showing of Godzilla! I FINALLY got to see it! It wasn't a perfect movie but totally perfect to escape some of the stress Reg and I have been under.

Jamie

It's all about the garden these days! I had such a great response to my last garden tour that I thought I'd do another one. It was crazy to see how little I knew about the plants that are along the side of the house! It inspired me to find out more and to invite people to identify a plant or a plant solution if they had one. It was totally fun to make this video and I just might make these all summer!

Shannon

I playing along with Index Card A Day, a 61-Day, 61-Card challenge and I've decided to show videos of creating them. Because I'm all about the videos these days, hehe. It took a bit to figure out how to rig up the camera (huge thank you to Jamie for lending me a tripod!). The colours don't read totally true, but I actually had a lot of fun doing it was it was really cool to share doing some art this way, and being able to talk through the thought process (when I have a thought process! I've made a playlist for the vids and I really hope that this will be fun and informative! So far, it is!

Suzie

Spent the day once again preparing the house for a viewing (a second-viewing actually) and made my version of Subway cookies. But! They didn't show up. Might be coming today? Who knows. Ugh, the long waiting game. Also: what a pain in the butt it is to bake in a kitchen with everything hidden away!

Jamie

This weekend we went to Hamilton to celebrate Justin's cousin's upcoming wedding. That's the bride there in the centre and her brother to the right. LOL, I feel so very short when I'm hanging out with these guys! It was great to hang out with Justin's family and to be a part of a stag and doe like I have never been a part of before!

Shannon

I had an absolute BLAST watching Pacific Rim this weekend. I had a feeling I would like it but wow oh wow I loved it. And it's not a great movie, it's totally crazy and smash and crash and all that jazz, but I didn't care. I just *enjoyed* it.

Suzie

What a weekend! Four home viewings. Saturday we were literally out all day. We started at Cora's, then went to Starbucks and then down to the bay to spend some time with Reg's family. I am so tired and feel so rough. Just gotta keep on going.
