The first gallery that we went to in Paris was the Rodin Museum. When we walked into the gardens, I cried. This was the moment I knew we were really here, in Paris, experiencing art that I had only read about. And this museum was truly special. I was captivated not only by the sculptures but also by their placement, each piece becoming a moment of theatre, a dance, a statement. I will never forget this experience.

By the way, the best advice we received was to buy the Paris Museum Pass. It's not just about adding up the sum of the admission fees. It's also the incredible time you save with bypassing the line (so worth it just for that - especially at the Louvre!) Add to that the increased chance that you'll pop into a museum you might have otherwise ski;;ed (we did that) and access to decent washrooms (yes, I think about these things) - it's well worth it!

I have been getting very frustrated with crafting and should I do Etsy and am I ever going to make money... Blah blah blah. Then made a smooshed watermelon yesterday. Just feel like giving up on being crafty which makes me sad. Yet it's "sticky" for me. Maybe I should just do this fun and let go of trying to sell stuff on Etsy? Trying to sell is all about fear of poverty for me. Maybe letting go of Etsy would be the most fearless thing I could do? So complicated!

I am back from France! It's been the weirdest thing to not blog through the experience. Now I'm a bit overwhelmed with how to share the journey. I'm so used to just bringing everyone along! Our first day of travel was very challenging with a delay in our flight, turbulence bringing out my fear of flying and landing to 6-degree pouring rain in Paris. It was overwhelming and difficult until we arrived at our Parisian Paradise - this apartment. The moment we walked in, we knew it was all worthwhile.

Introducing my crocheted zombie bunny. It is the only photograph I remember taking yesterday. I personally adore him although I am sure others will find him quite weird.

Did you know chia seeds, as in chia pets... are good for you? Not only that, when you let them soak in water they turn into a gel that can be used as a fat replacement. I know, sounds totally unappetizing but I tried this method for the first time and put it in my smoothie. It did not break down as much as I wanted but I will try baking with it soon.

I started the week off with some planning and looking ahead and brainstorming and listing. I like starting the week off this way!

Did not have a great day yesterday but I did make a grocery list for stuff I really want to make and finally got some artichokes! I've only had the marinated hearts and tonight I am going to try stuffing them with cheese and breadcrumbs. No idea if I am going to like them or not.

I know today's not a Rewind but this is my suitcase from when I went to the Kripalu Center to assist Jennifer Louden - the very beginning of my more confident traveller adventure! Hopefully today, I'm home safe and sound and ready to share amazing stories and pictures of our journeys in France!

Weekend Watching: I started my epic BONDATHON this weekend with Dr. No - I'm watching all the Bond films in anticaption of Skyfall this November. Also watched Beautiful Wave & Underworld Awakening for review. I love how all of them have a lot of blue on the covers, and likely lots of water. Fun times.

I searched everywhere for this pen and had friends take me to a store downtown just so I could buy it. Turns out, it isn't food safe! Ugh... I still decorated a teacup saucer with it but it looks like my dream of making my own dishes is just never going to happen. I can still decorate some and use them for my foodie photos, as long as the food doesn't touch the drawing. Argh!!!

Rewind: May 6, 2012

Jamie

This is one of my very favs! I miss the auction and still can't believe that we went for decades! We'll have to find a new and fabulous tradition.

Here is a photo of me and Shannon shopping at Goodwill. I am so glad I have photos of this ritual of ours at Pay-For-The-Pound. Shannon, you look awesome!

As I have been creating videos for my blogs and starting vlogging, it has been hard seeing myself with a slight double chin that has always plagued me and seeing myself start to age.

But then I look at this photograph where I was the thinnest I have been as an adult woman thanks to the Candida diet and it helps me make peace with who I am now. I feel much better being curvy and cute. I love Goth but do not want my face to look like Skeletor.

Making peace with who you are now and the flaws you come with is one of the best things about getting older. It is also one of the hardest. But I'm getting over it.

I've lived in Toronto forever and seen Queen's Park a zillion times but always walked around it, not on the actual land. One night Justin and I decided to do just that and the timing couldn't have been more perfect. My breath was taken away by the sight of these blooming trees. I have dreamed of seeing trees just like this blooming in Japan. Imagine my amazement when I read the plaque and discovered they were, in fact, a gift from Japan. It's amazing what you see when you change your route!

Mail call Mail call! I loooooooooooooooooove getting stuff in the mail - especially movies, so it was awesome for these to grace my presence for review :)

Thrift Store Treasures
I just love this photo, had to share it too!

I made another shopping trip and vlog update and I am learning how to hack my video program (which is very out of date) to add photographs with voice overlay. Thanks to Jamie I tried adding annotations in YouTube which is awesome! Too bad you can only add video links but that it still very cool. As you can see by how I am dressed, it is still bloody cold here. Only 7C when I went out on my little shopping trip. Guess we are just skipping spring this year.
