I went out for a run yesterday! Yay! Yes, a RUN! It's been forever and so far I haven't been able to get into any kind of a rhythm with running but I keep trying. Now that I'm carrying my phone and can take pictures during my warm up and cool down walks, maybe I'll be motivated!

Shannon

I've recently been watching Document Your Life * videos, and might take a crack at it. I really like that it is a way to actively curate your life for it to be what you'd like. And with that in mind, I made sure to spend some time outside reading during the weekend.

* lots of cats in this video :)

Suzie

With the hurricane craziness, being stuck inside with no power, I finally finished my Blue Bird! Reg and I also indulged in the Dresden File books which we are both addicted too. First novel I have finished in years. We read until there wasn't a tiny ray of light left.

The garden centre is just about done but when I was there a few days ago I couldn't resist this impatiens. This is like a mom montage with the flowers being a Mom colour and the planter being from Justin's mom.

Shannon

Oh, floofy pom pom how I had high hopes for you! This was my first attempt at a pom pom in years and misjudged the size of the pom pom maker but thankfully my second attempt was much better.

Fridays are the day I prep the newsletter. Yesterday included recording my 7th Creative Living Bookshelf! I filmed outside and though it looks awesome, wow, it's noisy - from birds, to dogs, to trucks, to planes! I really have to do these videos in the early morning for a shot at quiet! Still, it was great to share an amazing collection of books. I'm enjoying what's on my bookshelf right now!

Shannon

Nothing like a cat in a box to turn a challenging day into a day with delights :)

Free continental breakfast at Travelodge in New Glasgow. How do they get the eggs so fluffy?

Yesterday I woke up feeling poorly. I rested for most of the day and then took a gentle trip outside to the local market with Justin. What a treat! We came home with pulled pork sandwiches from a new organic butcher in the neighbourhood plus some fresh peas and raspberry jam. I was also incredibly impressed with two young guys who'd started their own juicing company and thoroughly enjoyed their lemon ginger concoction.

Shannon

Had quite a challenging day yesterday, including being rained on during the way home and therefore had to try out my socks! Meh!

Suzie

Yesterday we drove to New Glasgow to attend the wake of Reg's uncle. There was only 1 room left at the hotel and it had a king-sized bed which felt so decadent. Coming home I realized I had not been in a hotel room since we moved here over six years ago. I slept like crap but loved being away, even it if was for a sad occasion.

It was so great filming with you guys yesterday - and chatting afterwards too. I love sharing and exploring all sorts of possibilities together. Here's to expert beginners!

I am soooooooooooooooo excited to see Star Trek: The Next Generation back on Netflix. It went poof! in December when I was just a season and a half away from finishing my re-watch. Now the question is to continue writing about the episodes, or just watch and enjoy.

I picked these from my own strawberry patch. Had them with milk and sugar, the way I have always loved them. Delish!

Canada Day was great. It was so nice to have a day that really, really felt like a holiday. I did some puttering, some drawing, some watching - and, of course, there were burgers. A great day!

Shannon

With it being the beginning of the month it was time for my TV previews for new and returning shows. I'm not as crazy into TV this summer but now that I've been doing these a while it just seem right to go a month without them. How do I get suckered into habits so quickly?

Suzie

Reg and I went for a long drive to Lawrencetown Beach and when we came home Mom's rose bush was starting to bloom! What is amazing is there are so many more buds this year than before. At first this plant really struggled but now it's doing very well, I am so happy to say!

Yesterday saw the end date of a wide array of demanding tasks for Justin and I so we headed out for dinner at Grapefruit Moon. It was just the right weather for the patio (which we almost never do) and dinner was great. Afterwards we went for a long walk and even went by each of our old apartments that are in this neighbourhood. It was amazing to reminisce, to see how little had changed and to celebrate how long we've been happily together.

Shannon

I know it's probably asking for trouble, but I bought a plant. Let's hope this happy ivy survives! I think I'll call it Ivy :)

Suzie

Reg and I went for our first kayaking class. It was awesome. I felt so free on the water. Then, my kayak tipped and I fell into the Atlantic Ocean. That was always my big fear with kayaking and I survived. Here I am after the class is over, triumphant. But, to be honest, it also really screwed up my confidence about kayaking. Still, another life fear? Done. Reg was a natural of course. It was beautiful to see him on the water so happy.
