Jamie

Right now I feel like every bit of time is committed. Some of it is social - like hanging out with Auntie Laima and Shannon and learning how to spin, celebrating Shannon's birthday once more. Some of it work. It's very intense doing a whole website revamp and getting ready for the fall season. It's all wonderful but all I can do is try to really support myself so that I can rise to the occasions and enjoy them.

Shannon

Not a terribly exciting picture, but it was back to some normalness after the holiday and lots of birthday celebrations. I actually got out and about, although I got to experience the ick of the non-air conditioned subway which was crazy intense heat... and that is coming from me! Draining way to start being out, but I made sure to get an AC car on the way back.

I cleaned off the small island by our back north-facing window in the kitchen and setup my photography lighting there. It doesn't get a lot of natural light but there is some and now my lights are in my kitchen where there is room and that feels better than on top of the dining room table which gets zero light. This is a camera phone photo so it doesn't aptly represent the potential of this space although it isn't a bad photo, for my camera.

Now that all the celebrations have happened, and I'm spending a lot of time resting, I've cracked open my birthday present from Jason: Assassin's Creed Syndicate. I was so crazy excited to try it out and I ended up loving it! It's set in Victorian London and the game is beautiful, and the great thing about this one is you alternate between 2 characters, so you get to play a man and a woman. Which is so sweet because there aren't a lot of women-protagonist games. I have a feeling I will be spending a lot of time playing this one.

Suzie

Went to see the new Star Trek movie which was good but also stressful.

Party time! It's been a week of celebrations, and this was the spread for the last one with Dad and Julie and Steph and Beth and Jamie and Justin coming over for a birthday celebration. That's the most people I've had at my place since the move! It was nice to get everything cleaned up and have some yummys to share. Now I sleep for a week. And next time I have to take pictures while people are here! I sometimes forget that.

Although it was hot as hell, I FINALLY tried making caramelized onions in a pressure cooker. I was so hot I could barely talk at the end of my video but decided to leave it in to show what living with fibro fog is like. Mostly because editing would have been too difficult. DONE.

It was so much fun to learn how to spin yarn with Auntie Laima and Jamie! There are so many steps, I hope I will remember them all! It was amazing to turn fluff into this! I am looking forward to doing more.

Suzie

Much better day. Went out for lunch and picked up Subway for dinner before heading out to D&D which is good because it is so bloody hot. Our deck thermometer said 32C in the shade. The store was quite warm too and came home to a crazy-hot house so got the air conditioner going and fingers crossed it cools down the bedroom a bit. One more hot day before it cools off a bit.

A very busy day for me! One of the many things I did was pick up some food stuffies for hanging out with Jamie and Auntie Laima. I was so impressed that I remembered to pick up a tomato for sandwiches, because although I don't eat them... other people love them! I hope this one is good. It was 'on the vine', and had the peppery smell to it when I broke it from it's vine-mate. Fingers crossed!

My coffeemaker has been replaced! I was able to get the exact same kind, which means now I have an extra carafe and filter+bucket. Here's hoping this one lasts a little longer. I certainly put it to good use!

Suzie

Surgu disaster. Went past expiration date and is no long foldable to fix my ravioli press. Glad we talked but overall, crap day. Did some cleaning of the house just to feel productive.
