December 13, 2014

Shannon

I realized I wasn't putting my blanket together, and decided to remedy that! Because it's an eyes-on job, watching a show wasn't working (even re-watching Star Trek!) and I considered podcasts but I'm way behind on those so I dove into something I usually avoid: Audiobooks. The library has tons, and most I found you can hear a sample of the reading which made all the difference! I realized I'm super finicky on the voices on many levels, and I wanted to try it with something I wasn't terribly invested in which lead me to pick a British suspense/mystery novel. Totally not my normal gig, but rockin' accent on the narrator and certainly a genre I'm less familiar with. Let the stitching together continue!

Suzie

We were supposed to go to the Christmas market downtown to look for a new Christmas tree but didn't quite make it but at least Reg was able to put up our outdoor wreath. I love that despite the light being cool, the contrast with the red door makes it look so warm and Christmasy!

December 12, 2014

Jamie

What a winter wonderland we woke up to today! The best thing was to cancel all outdoor plans, except making snow angels. That I made sure to get outside for!

Shannon

With the big snow outside and the pretty tree inside, it's feeling very much like the holidays are here. Woohoo!!

Suzie

Reg and I walked to the library (I decided to not continue with Felicia Day's book club, too much pressure) and happened to see that our local martial arts store was actually open for once!

December 11, 2014

Jamie

I was so thankful to be able to rearrange some plans yesterday and have a quiet night at home - and decorate the tree! We found a real beauty this year, just the right size and the house is full of the smell of pine. There's nothing like sitting back and relaxing with the tree twinkling beside you. Let the holidays begin!

Shannon

It's beginning to feel a lot like the holidays! Actually, it already does feel like the holidays. It's so nice to have the awesome tree in the house, it smells so wonderful and makes me want to tuck in under the covers and enjoy the outdoors, indoors.

Suzie

Totally crashed and burned yesterday. Spent most of the day in bed. Had a little time on the computer to work on a video slideshow of my trip to the chocolate shop. I love this photo and how you can see me with the owner Bernard checking us out from the store. I totally pushed it too far.

I love filming stART with you guys! I'm so excited by how well the show is doing and how much fun we have while doing it!

Shannon

And he thinks I didn't know he was there! Actually, I might not have. I'd love to make a set of this over-the-shoulder-cat shots!

Suzie

Tuesday felt like an impossibly long day but you two and the blue gnome made it so great! And the sunshine lasted and no more rain has fallen, for now. Yay!

December 9, 2014

Jamie

Monday was an awesome day. I grabbed my journal and a book and headed down to the beach for a little birthday celebration of my own. While I was there, I bumped into these gnomes and well... he seemed to have followed me home! Plus I found a signature piece of jewellery that I bought myself from Mom. And after that, we went out and got our tree! Tree, jewellery and gnomes = great day!

Shannon

This didn't make the cut for stART, but I did almost completely finish my Haunting of Hill House page. There were a lot of great words, from the expect lot including eerie, ghost, haunted, to the unexpected of edity, aberration, errant, mar, maudlin and dignity. The words are so good that I would like to work with them more!

Suzie

I have to be honest. Yesterday was rough. We got our groceries before the big week of chronic rainfall warnings began but it was stressful and quite miserable.

December 8, 2014

Jamie

Where to begin? This has been an extraordinary birthday - right from the start of Birthday Week with the birthday fairy bringing me a dinosaur egg, right through to Hazel's chocolate chip cookies for breakfast, learning the basics of tango and experiencing an amazing tasting menu! All of that sprikled with the most wonderful birthday wishes to infuse not only today but this whole next stage of my life. I think it's going to be awesome.

Shannon

Birthday Covert Cookie Operation: Behind the Scenes! Yep, this was the chocolate chip cookies, before they were cookies. It's like a prequel! And now they are all gone! Not to self: Put 1/2 in the fridge/tupperware next time so that there are soft ones for yummyness longer.

Suzie

It was finally revealed at the end of the night at D&D that Reg' first character was indeed dead. I tried my hardest to leave with the body but a druid wouldn't let me. After being bitten and poisoned by a two-headed dog, I figured it was better to retreat and make it out alive. When one of the players fell down a giant shaft, landing on my head deeming me unconscious I was relieved. No more big decisions! It was so much fun. I don't remember laughing that hard in a long, long time.
