I'm happy to say that I finally slipped into my new schedule and spent Friday writing my Sunday newsletter. This is a picture I took to include in it :) It was a bit of a moody day for me so it was good to focus on getting some work done and then hanging out with Shannon. I wound some yarn, did some doodling and got outside to loosen up my mood too!

Suzie

Yesterday was another day of clearing out the house of donations and taking them to the thrift store. We also got other errands done. We tried putting the bathroom together but are having some tech issues that has become quite frustrating. All of this just zaps me dry. I know it's all good but I am left with nothing left to spare.

I had such a wonderful day yesterday. I took the day off and headed down to the beach. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing. You could hear the waves way before you could see them. I think this is one of my very favourite spots. I have pictures of it from all different angles, at all different times of year. I'm so thankful for being able to spend time here.

 

Suzie

It's so weird. My hair colour looks purple inside but this flaming red outside. I think I like it. It's just punk enough. Or maybe I want it more. People were kind of tough on me that I look so unhappy in the photo but for me, this was a very honest and earnest self-portrait of exactly how I am doing right now. It took bravery for me to share it and people just want me to smile. Screw that! I am nobody's clown. I speak the truth. Even in my photographs.

As I walked over to Tanya's yesterday I was delighted to see signs of spring! What a joy to see these little green shoots starting to show up.

 

Suzie

The other day I dyed my hair this dark auburn but it sometimes looks almost a bright pink. I had to wait until there was some natural light to take photos and it looks normal here but it is quite dramatic. I haven't figured out if I like it yet. I'm also very glum because I had a flare yesterday and was in a lot of pain.

Yesterday was a big day behind the scenes. It's so appropriate that I also participated in Andrea Schroeder's Blog Hop and had created feathers to give dreams wings. Though yesterday wasn't really about dreaming, this positivity feather certainly was a support.

Nothing exciting happened during the day but we stayed up late last night with Michelle on Skype so we could watch Empire Records together and celebrate Rex Manning Day. It was so much fun. The actor who played Mark in particular was awesome and shared trivia while we watched.

One of my favourite things lately has been doing an #onmydesk series of photos. Usually I'm inspired to take one of these pics when I've just noticed where I've placed my camera and/or caught a peek at what it's looking at. I think it captures a moment in time. Yesterday it was looking at this happy little mug that I picked up from Value Village.

Here is the before photo of our bathroom, all pink and taped off. I ended up painting the whole room which I will pay for today but at least it's done. I might have to do another layer but I am hoping it isn't necessary.

I love having Art Day on Sunday! We don't always manage it but when we do, it is such a treat. I thought it would be fun to take pics of my palette and Shannon's. I bet every time we look at them we'll be able to tell which one is mine and which is hers! This one's pretty atypical for me but still, i can recognize Shannon's colours on the right!

I was struck by a blank page blinkity-blink paralysis yesterday. I can't remember the last time that's happened. It took me a while to get over it, but decided to just make marks on the page and go from there! It didn't end up being my fave piece, but it was... a piece. So yay for that :)

Reg and I had an unusually social weekend. It was board game day at St. Mary's University again (I played that epic zombie game last year) and Reg and I got to check out lots of games like these freaky creatures from a very complex game called Mansions of Madness. Way too in-depth to play there but it was awesome checking it out. We played Zombie Dice with a really great group of people too and other games like a Walking Dead board game. We also went to see the new Captain America movie and visited with Reg's mom too. No work done on the house so it was a bit of a fun break.

I have been completely delighted by robin sightings this week. It makes me believe that maybe, just maybe, spring has tentatively arrived.
