Jamie

It was a beautiful day yesterday and a real treat to head out to my friend Chris' for another Power Picnic, this time focused on Danette. One of the things I love about new routes is new opportunities for pictures. I loved the way the light shone down on this poor little forgotten truck in the park. I'm sure he'll find a home in no time at all! What a rich day - I came home from this outing to recording stART with you two! Creative community FTW!

Shannon

Here we are all together for stART! I was a bit out of it yesterday though, so I'm definitely going to take the opportunity to watch or listen to this episode to enjoy it more fully :)

Suzie

Had a fabulous day recording stART and I got some food photography in too! We had great lighting here yesterday so I am so glad I got to take advantage of it. BTW, I was testing these pumpkin seed cranberry crisps and with goat cheese? They totally rock.

Jamie

I spent my entire day yesterday tucked into work. I didn't think I was going to have an interesting picture to share at all and then the sky lit up! It was truly astonishing. First there was a golden wash of light all along the street behind us and then appeared the brightest rainbow I have ever seen. It was the very first time in my life that I remember being able to see a rainbow in its entire arc, end to end. I'm taking that as incredibly auspicious sign!

Shannon

I thought I would shake things up things up and do a non-packing-related image, and yesterday there were birds, birds, everywhere! Like this little guy who perched perfectly on the neighbors roof. They have lots of little puddles of water after the rain and the birds were totally batheing in it - but getting a clear shot of that was pretty challenging! Later int he day I swear I saw a bird slide down the metal roof. I hope it was okay!

Suzie

It was stressful but OMG, the dishwasher is out!!!! And I made a great new connection with handy people I like. I feel like a rotten tooth was pulled from my kitchen. Ugh! Relief! Next? Find a dishwasher that fits and hire the same people to install it. Huge victory for my kitchen yesterday!!!

Jamie

This weekend we got over to Shannon's to help with the packing. We made amazing progress - and enjoyed good company, coffee, scones and sandwiches! There's nothing like turning work into something enjoyable. Things are really coming along!

Shannon

This is the space after Jamie & Justin helped me - and wow, I am so thankful!  I actually have some room to breathe and will be able to continue to go though stuff to make more progress as the move date inches forward.  Starting early was really smart.  I find pacing it out this long weird, but it makes a lot of sense.

Suzie

Since I haven't been feeling well I took the weekend off and stayed home. It gave me time to do some crafting (which I will save for stART) and to put together my first foodie rant video. I never thought I would feel angry enough to do a rant but this product got me started and now I am not sure I am going to stop. It deserved it though. It got a rating of "straight to the compost bin".

Jamie

I love this picture of Justin and Reg on Long Beach from our wonderful trip out west. It was so incredibly beautiful there. What an awesome time :)

Jamie

Who knew we were going to have such a great time packing yesterday! We had time for chatting, drinking tea and even singing in between packing up boxes and turning hard decisions into a game show! And when we went out to pick up dinner, it was a veritable parade of cats! This guy had a sweetness that had me sneaking in a Dog in the Hood photo too!

Shannon

It was so awesome to have Jamie's help packing yesterday, getting the last of the movies packed and the almost last of the books packed.  One thing I didn't keep was this Grammar Guide that I had to buy for College English.  I *still* resent having to take that class, but tossing this book might be the first step in letting that go!

Suzie

I claimed yesterday as a "Me Day" and had a $20 budget. I went to the thrift store, bought a lovely quilted fall jacket, this amazing embroidered skirt and apparently a donut pan. I am realizing more and more, I love clothing with a touch of whimsy and/or character. Otherwise I am bored. And I am apparently going to learn how to make baked donuts. I took myself out to a free lunch at McDonald's but the long, long walk home was too much for me. I got all dizzy and felt horrible afterwards. That traditional Latvian optical migraine hit and I was a mess. I still had fun researching on YouTube though and felt better after I had some chips so low blood pressure was probably part of it too. What a crazy day.

Jamie

Yesterday was such a great day! Justin and I took the day off work and went to the AGO to see both David Bowie and Ai Wei Wei. Both exhibits were fascinating and provocative. The David Bowie exhibit lived up to its reputation of being very innovative with recordings that started automatically as you came to an exhibit, sharing words or song from David Bowie and more. For me, that aspect was sometimes its failing. I felt overly directed and like I had no white space in experiencing a very full exhibit or time to chat with it with Justin as we went through. Likely with a bit more guidance on how to use the tech that would have been alleviated. Still we left with so much to think about, to chat about, to wonder about and, to me, that's the sign of a great exhibit.

Although yesterday was another big day of packing and receiving a HUGE amount of boxes, I was determined to be done by 8pm so I could watch the series premiere of The Vampire Diaries and then the season premiere of The Originals. Moving during Fall TV season keeps me strict on timing, lol! I take notes for a lot of the paranormal shows (gonna remember the lore, and who's who, what they are and how the rules work), so I had to prep *my* books! It was a good sit-down activity after clearing some more shelves. And I *was* done by 8pm! YAY!

Dang, just realized I forgot to write "2013" on my book!

Suzie

Yesterday got totally derailed. The only big thing that happened was getting Call Recorder for my laptop. At least now I can do stART anywhere on it now.

Jamie

I am so thankful to Jeanne for the little push it took to get to Choir! Choir! Choir! We had a fabulous time!! Can't you just tell? We're beaming. I honestly didn't think I could fall for White Wedding but it was so extraordinary to be belting out the harmonies and yelling-- I mean singing, "Hey! Hey! Hey little sister SHOTGUN!"

I'm glad I had another place to share my visit to the Latvian Cultural Centre because that and choir made yesterday a major day.

Shannon

The oddest thing happened yesterday.  I picked up the few things at the grocery store, including a can of sugar-free Canada Dry gingerale.  When I got home, I pulled this Sprite out of my bag.  I know I picked the ginger ale!  But that's not what I came home with!

Suzie

Recording Hexed was definitely the highlight of my day! Did some more lawn weeding and felt a bit wonky most of the day.
