Not the very best picture of my dreamboard but I hope it will give you an impression of what I'm dreaming of under the Full Sturgeon Moon. I ended up absolutely loving this board, completely and utterly. It feels like I'm allowing myself to dream about and imagine what's next for me, in a way that's grounded in the sacred and expressed beautifully in and through experiences and environments. I even found a picture of a new Canadian $100 bill for a focus on prosperity! (National Geographic featured our new 'plastic' money)

You can't tell from this photo but I had a brutal day yesterday. I had to go to the walk-in clinic because I have an ear infection. I got drops and the pain was so bad I just wanted to curl up into a ball and cry. Instead I took some anti-inflammatories which thankfully helped. Determined not to fall into a bout of self-pity, I focused instead on doing a video newsletter. It helped me get my act together and since I was still in a lot of pain I just focused on editing the video down to its essence the way all the books say to. I also added a fun Suziey-style intro which I am finally figuring out.

Though the Full Sturgeon Moon is officially today, she was sure shining bright yesterday! I think she must have also been beaming down some inspiration because I think she and I (hehe) have finally decided on a format for my Year of Dreams course. Last year I hosted it live but next year I hope to be offering it in a brand new e-way, complete with gorgeous meditations and reminders to make your dreamboard.

There are so many amazing Olympic moments each day it's hard to pick on to share. Moments of glory, insights and even some crazy challenges (like the freaking pommel horse) or scandals (a badminton scandal... seriously!). The one that that I was most looking forward to was the Men's All Around Gymnastics and it had me glued to the screen with amazing performance for hours, butit was this particular moment in Men's Weightlifting that took me by storm: a 204kg clean & jerk by LU Xiaojun of China. Unbelievable. That's 449.743 lbs. Above the head. Amazing what people can do.

Despite having another terrible headache, I was determined to get out my camcorder and figure out how to upload a video to my computer. I just did a short test video of my altar and still, could not figure out how to upload it. Turns out Canon does not make software that is compatible with Mac (argh!) so I have to plug my camera with the adaptor, turn it on, go to a particular screen on the camera for it to download. How did I find that out? I called tech support. I will eventually learn how to do this wireless but for now, this is good enough.

I tend to avoid my new toys after I buy them. I get intimidated or something and this is totally new tech to me. So I was avoiding it even more. Now that I know I can do a basic shoot and upload, I'm good. I have no qualms about being on video but apparently taking video and dealing with tech freaks me out. Glad I took this first step.

Okay, that's weird. I had totally posted already and then came by and my pic and post were missing! Well, even that can't dampen the excitement of the new addition to our home: a PVR!! We had been using Justin's Archos, and though it seemed second nature to him, it always seemed to be a battle for me. In contrast, this sweet baby is easy-peasy! I've already taped some Olympics, The Dog Whisperer and Around the World in 80 Plates! And I love being able to do a quick 8-second rewind - comes in handy when rewatching a dive or a tumbling run!

Olympic fever continues and I've been really taken by the Judo, and there were lots of amazing matches on Day 4 including a very aggressive one between USA and Germany that I actually thought was going to turn into a fight! But they got gentlemanly and kept joining without it going overboard. There was a lot of excitement for Canada in Judo on Day 4 as Antoine Valois-Fortier (left) won a Bronze after a very powerful match. The Gold went to KIM Jae-Bum (right) of South Korea in another formidable match and you can see the elation of the moment.. I'm really thankful that they aired Judo on TV on Monday with great commentary by Frazer Will, after watching it with commentary I felt I could kind of understand what was going on (live feeds have no commentary - but the athletes have *great* walk on music), for a sport I barely had a clue about beyond the name. I'd love it if they'd add commentary to the live feeds! They did broadcast the Bronze medal match though which was great. I'm going to keep watching Judo this week as there are different weight classes competing on different days. Maybe by the end of the week I'll go from kinda understanding it to really understanding it! And if you missed it, it looks like the Day 4 live feed will stay active - watch here - woohoo!

Last night I was determined to finish project 1 in my online crafting workshop. The problem was finding a swatch of polar fleece without cutting something up. Then I realized I had felted a sweater and could use that instead. Making the holes was the hard part but the rest was kind of easy. I really didn't pay any attention to doing a good job, I just wanted to figure out how to do it and it still didn't look that bad in the end. This is a huge step for me. My shirts are always too short and just the idea of adding a nice trim to the bottom is liberating and exciting!

I'm playing with a new kind of journal. I'm putting everything that I'm thinking about, that's inspiring me, that I'm working on, in one place. Usually I just can't do this because I want to write in one kind of book and put pictures in another kind of book but forget that, I'm just gathering. I'm keeping it near me and as I think of things or hear things or notice things, I add it. I'm trying to keep it simple and clear so that I can scan it easier later when I'm ready to develop an idea or want to remember what was inspiring me in the summer of 2012.

Olympics 2012 continue and there was lots to enjoy including quite many surprizes during the men's team gymnastics and a formidable vault by Kristian Thomas of Great Britain. But I started my day off very early watching awesome matches in Judo including Ugo Legrand (France) vs Ki-Chun WANG (South Korea) in a great fight. But my heart just leap when 15 year old Ruta Meilutyle won the Gold for Lithuania, the first every medal for Lithuania in swimming. Wow. What a whirlwind of an emotionally exciting day.

Suzie

I got a Amazon Visa card and when I signed up I got a $15 girl certificate. I used it on these books so I essentially got two for one. Jamie, the one on the right is the one I had taken out of the library that had easier-to-read patterns that I brought on my visit.

The one of the left is the author of the online workshop I am doing. She is such a good teacher and the workshop has helped me immensely already. There are just some things that are too hard for me to learn by book so the workshop is helping me with that and then hopefully I can apply the knowledge to the books I bought. Super exciting! Now I just need to find time and energy. That's the hard part.

Perhaps inspired by the Olympics or the more temperate weather, I went out for a run. It felt so good to channel my energy and get out of the house. I always love connecting with my neighbourhood this way and yesterday I loved doing my warm-up walk behind this guy and his cute bulldog. I was listening to this song as I walked briskly and enjoyed the beautiful moment.

Shannon

This weekend was ALL OLYMPICS, ALL THE TIME! I was really taken by both weightlifting as well as likely my most watched ever Olympic sport: gymnastics. One of the big stats the announcers were sharing was how many people have completed in multiple Olympics, up to 6 if I remember right, and it freaked me out because I may have watched them each and every time! One of the ones I was most impressed with was Marcel Nguyen on the German team (image above) who consistently delivered with style and grace over and over and over on Saturday.

Suzie

Reg and I went to see Out of This World Extraordinary Costumes exhibit over the weekend. We also picked up one of the toughest pieces for his Hal-Con costume on Saturday, super exciting. Really looks like his cool costume is really going to happen. As a result, we were inspired to go check out famous costumes from the movies. Can you believe how tall the guy who played Darth Vader was? I of course wanted a photo of me with the Riddler costume. More to come on my blog tomorrow!

Rewind: July 29, 2012

Jamie

For some reason I've been thinking about Cape Cod lately. Shannon and I went 5 years ago in October and had an amazing time - though you can't tell by the serious look on my face here, LOL. You think I'd be smiling on the back of a dinosaur in a beautiful beach town! Maybe I was trying to look scary :)

Suzie

Mom shared this photo with me when I was visiting. I think her and Dad are on vacation and Mom's pregnant with Jamie! Wish I could remember where this was.

I love the Olympics. What a treat to hang out at my place last night watching the Opening Ceremonies. The lighting of the torch/cauldron in particular was magnificent!

Yesterday was all about going out and getting stuff done! And of course, it had to rain but it wasn't too bad. Library books, some supplies and food and I am good for the weekend. Especially excited about getting True Blood from the library!!! Already watched one episode and I can't believe how much I have missed the characters!
