I realized I haven't posted my Full Snow Moon Dreamboard. I feel like I"m still getting to know it, though I can tell you that I'm wildly in love with the chaise lounge in the windowed room and the table under the chandelier. I'm imagining relaxed time reading and also around-the-table meetings with creative cohorts.

Last week I devised a brilliant plan to track my accomplishments on my cheerful calender with happy tacks with achievements in different areas from keeping on track with goals to writing posts, etc. I was actually really surprized after just a week I feel like I'm no where near staying on track as I usually am. Nowhere near. I'm going to keep tracking though & assess what I want to changed later.

February 10th is the anniversary of our head-collision. It happened less than two months after we moved here and nothing has gone right since. All the dreams we had for moving here are now over. I went to the spot where pieces of our car are buried under snow and garbage. I went to say good-bye. I am filled with sadness that I know everything we had hoped for would happen when we moved here is dead.

I hope that next February 10th I will have no reminders of the accident. That I can heal and move on, quite literally. There is a reason I hate February. Now I can get past it. Onto the future. And hopefully away from this spot in my personal landscape.

Jamie

The sun was shining and I was out and about yesterday. I had so much fun walking down Bloor Street with my camera, particularly taking photos with reflections, like this one.

Dreamboards for the month, although I didn't have a big piece of bristol board this month I made a few little-er dreamboards and sometimes used the actual page/envelop/magazine page it came from as the actual backbone. Although colour wise very different, they all seem to have a similar theme.

Yesterday there were two major events. Number 1: I left the house on my own to go to the corner store at 7 am to pick up milk. Since I got pneumonia, I have been stuck inside dependent on others, it was very liberating. Number 2: I finally used Ice Resin for the first time. I totally love the idea of working with it but it scares me. And yes, that is an eyeball sinking to the bottom of a skull mold. This makes me very happy.

Now that we're doing yoga with Chaz, I thought it would be great to freshen up our mats!
I've been thinking about my practices lately, of movement, meditation and morning pages, how clearly they improve things for me and how imperfect I am at maintaining them. I'm studying The Shero's Journey with Jennifer Louden and in class today she spoke of self-trust and the importance of kindness when we inevitably experience self-betrayal. I let that work through my system as I went out for a run.

This pic is a bit of a cheat as it's not from today but a month ago - however on the left is exactly where I parked my be-hind while editing Hexed & finesse-ing a bunch of reviews over at Movie Moxie in my epic adventure to catch up this week (and be done before Fact or Faked & Face Off were on!). Here's hoping I get there!

Pearl-Ex Pendants
Suzie

Kind of had a weird day yesterday. Right before I was going to make something to eat and drink before talking Hexed with Shannon, Nova Scotia Power guy showed up and turned off our power. This gave a little time to work on these cold porcelain pendants and finish them off with Pearl-Ex, one of the best crafting discoveries that I have made in a while. Then the power came on so Shannon and I could talk about supernatural TV.

Uh... can you tell Shannon and I went to the movies together yesterday? Justin came too.
Yep, nothing like hanging out with loved ones, popcorn & Shakespeare!

Week-day movie-ing out to see Coriolanus with Jamie & her honey.
Nothing like Shakespeare on a Tuesday night!

Jamie got me the piece "The Photographer" by DanitaArt on Etsy for my birthday from my wishlist. Thank you Jamie! I still can't believe it was in my mailbox when you called yesterday. I have it up on my altar right now to inspire me. Love it!!!

February 7, 2012

Jamie

Yesterday I ran into the setting sun, the houses vermillion behind me.
I turned and ran into the rising moon, so close I felt I could run right into her arms.
By the time I was able to capture her, she'd already moved away.

Another series complete!
Reading Blue-Eyed Devil makes me complete on the series that started with Appaloosa (novel on which the film is based), and is the first western series I've read. They were really swift reads with tons of clipped dialogue and although I didn't love it I did love the camaraderie and friendship between the 2 characters in the story. Now, I just have to watch the film.

Thanks to Jamie and Shannon handholding me and getting me all set up for my big interview, I think my conversation talk with Laura Calder about the next season of Recipe to Riches went OK. Not only is it new tech for me, I can sometimes have brutal social anxiety and I loathe the phone so I think I did pretty well. I started with some questions and then we just went from there. Thanks Jamie & Shannon! I could not have done this without you.

Jamie

I love being a part of Shannon's Movie Moxie Book-to-Film Club. This weekend we went to our first film of the year, The Lady in Black. I enjoyed the movie but feel the book is much stronger, more powerful in its restraint and choices. I love the thought and conversation that's inspired by reading the book and then watching the film. Thank you, Shannon!

Weekend Watching: Book to Film Club Film The Woman in Black, some X-Files rewatching including my fave episode Ice and The Marine. And for some reason the picture is oddly rotate, but I've spent enough time trying to get it centred... and so ... it will just be wrong. I don't really have the time to fix it anymore, so... too bad!

Made homemade Nutella-stuffed waffled French toast for brunch yesterday. Then watched Red Riding Hood thanks to Shannon! I loved it Shannon, perfect birthday gift. :)

Rewind: When Club Girls Go To a Wedding

Rewind: 1990 (which is 22 years ago now!) 2 cute catty animals at Cedar Point.
I always loved seeing the animals there, although retrospectively it seems a bit odd to have wild animals at an amusement park!

Under Our Willow Tree - Rewind!
Suzie

Rewind! This is the front of our house in North York, Ontario. We had a banana-yellow garage door that I used to hit with tennis balls as I practised all summer. This is also what my friend Alix nicknamed "The Poltergeist Tree" which grew by the front door. Both Jamie and I used to live in the bedroom this tree was right outside of. It was the only time I was scared of a tree. Funny, now I remember it so fondly. Maybe it got a bad rap?
