Art Day!! It was great to pull out the paints and try something new - painting on glass. The assignment for The Year of Spark was actually to paint on plexiglass but we went with glass from a clip frame and it was really interesting. How lovely to be hanging out, painting, while the snow gentle fell and the crockpot cooked dinner and chicken soup was boiling on the stove. Kind of a perfect winter's afternoon!

Shannon

Art Day!! This was my piece in process, and it was wild to work on a clear surface although it was challenging to get a picture that felt like it because ...you see through it!

Suzie

So guess who went to see Oklahoma this weekend? Yup, me! I brought tons of Ricola because I am sick again and went with a friend who analyzed it from a contemporary feminist perspective and opened my eyes to lots of problems with the story I had never thought of before, LOL. Still, it was fun and I love the songs. I probably should have stayed home in bed but I just couldn't say no to a musical.

Shannon

I've been having a lot of fun trying out different nail polishes, and this one is CRAZY! Gold glitter goodness. Totally not something I would normally go for, but it drew my magpie eye and I've been enjoying it's bright energy.

Suzie

I have been avoiding food shopping like the plague and the only way I could bring myself to going was if we went to Michaels first because I really could not go any further in my wire wrapping class without some basic supplies. But I am paying for it now. I hope I feel well enough to take the class tomorrow because I don't think I will be up to doing much else.

Jamie

I think I was getting a bit of cabin fever yesterday: the cold, the snow, being sick. I was so restless! Luckily I was feeling a bit better and could get a bit of work done, practice guitar and even read a little. I finished May Sarton's Journal of a Solitude and man, I'll miss hanging out with her. It inspired me to really think about adding another kind of journaling to my day.

Shannon

It's just a stamp, but inside is a form I've been meaning to send for so long that it felt insurmountable. And oddly, I don't even fill it out but just sent it along. Here's hoping the rest of the process is smooth sailing.

Suzie

Reg came to visit me in my crafts room and I asked him to update my calendar, LOL. It made me smile. I saw all the sticky notes from our planning day which made me laugh considering how much has already changed since back then. I was ecstatic to have a day in my crafts room and see that February was a giant cupcake.

Jamie

Another sick day. I was getting restless so I spent most of the day gently art journaling while I continued to rest. I get so restless when I can't get stuff done!

Shannon

I've been rewatching S1 of Bitten and I am so looking forward to S2 that I prebought it on iTunes. A steal at $15. I can't wait for the first episode, hopefully it will go up on the weekend. Watching without commercials is soooo much better for intense shows, or any shows for that matter!

Suzie

Wednesday was a very busy day and the highlight was definitely talking to Shannon. :) I am feeling a bit conflicted about having my weekly Skype night with my sleep specialist on the night Reg is at school because it is a new thing (which I discovered makes me uncomfortable even if it's a good thing) and because I usually do video editing on that night. I managed to do both and feel good about it all. Yay!

Jamie

I woke up in the night with a sore throat and earache. I guess that cold got to me! I spent the day bundled up and cozy being gentle with myself, doodling and watching Netflix. It was nice that I had just spent an entire day cleaning up the studio! It made it a lovely place to be.

I didn't know what this phrase meant, but I was thrilled to encounter it as it came at the end of Book 1 of Le Morte D'Arthur. This epic freaking huge book and had been totally stumped on how to get through it, but I finally cracked the nut and my method is working. I hope to do a video on the technique, but wanted to make sure it was actually working. Now that I'm this far in it feels like it's really working. I wonder if I'll mention barely understanding the book... perhaps that will be a different video....

Suzie

I bought two necklaces and two bracelets the other day and this is what they broke down into. I love the colours and can not wait to turn them into fun pieces. Now, thanks to Beta, I know that my crafting is part of my brand and it doesn't really matter what I am doing, I am working towards that so that is good. Also, I keep asking myself, what do I want to do now (thanks to Shannon) and today I wanted to plays with beads and wire which is exactly what I did.

Jamie

It was freezing for our anniversary but the sky was clear, the moon was bright and we had a wonderful time. We decided to keep it casual and on the subway line so we could avoid as much of this weather as possible! It was a night of firsts - our first time at Winterlicious, an event around Toronto where restaurants have prix-fixe special menus, and Justin's first experience of friend chicken and waffles, which was honestly, fabulous.

Shannon

With not getting to art day on the weekend, I did some Monday night art-ing with the current Year of Spark class. I'm still getting the hang of this one. I guess I'm much more comfortable with drawing than collage!

Suzie

Look Shannon, I remembered to turn the page on my calendar! Only one day late. That's a record for me. Oh crap, gotta do the one in the crafts room, LOL. Hope you and Justin had a beautiful anniversary Jamie!!!

Jamie

So I'm breaking format a bit today to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I love that we were all in this beautiful spot celebrating together. It was just perfect!

Shannon

I obviously have my work cut out for me in terms of the Just Dance tournament! But then again, I only played a few times, but not as much as 1318 other people!

Suzie

I really thought last night that Athah's time was up. Wraiths, spectres… half our party abandoned us. Reg and I were left alone in the dungeon, me unconscious, he waking in our and out of consciousness. Ironically, when our party ran away, the undead went with them giving us time to recover and get the hell out of there. Reg was a true hero of light kicking undead butt. I come back close from death to throw a javelin into the last spectre to clear our path. It was truly epic.
