Jamie

Another day working gently back into the studio. Luckily Jinx kept me company. Though clearly she wasn't too sure about this gnome guy!

Shannon

It's only days into the new year and new TV series are upon us! I took a chance on the period-musical-comedy Galavant, which really just seemed like such a silly idea...I wasn't sure if it would be Medieval Times or Merlin with singing. Turns out, a bit of both (sans-magic...at least so far), and I happily enjoyed it. Very silly, but also smart with catch songs but it isn't singing throughout the entire show. It's only on for 4 weeks, and I think I'll be sticking with it.

Suzie

It was at least +12C today and it wasn't raining so Reg and I went out for lunch at a new café in our neighbourhood and they gave us complimentary Italian Wedding Soup which was fabulous. I went to the library, picked up some dried anchovies and shrimp (which Reg didn't flinch at) and then came home and crashed on the couch. I am hoping that the walk will help me sleep tonight and it did our spirits wonders.

Jamie

This full moon has been unbelievably beautiful. I was working into the evening last night when it caught my eye from my window. I even braved the (very) cold to get a better shot! Full Wolf Moon blessings to all!

Shannon

I swear I did not intend for my lunch to be a happy face. Totally happened on it's own accord. And it was yum.

Suzie

Although yesterday was crazy with appointments, I found that I had no interest (or energy) in documentary it. Instead, I wanted to take a photo to remember which yarn I was using to make a Suzie doll. This is the yarn that ended up being scented!!!

Jamie

We met the friendliest cat yesterday when we were out on adventures. Her name is Moxie and we met her on our way to an open house, the second house viewing we did yesterday. One of the things we're really exploring this year is whether to move or stay put. Both houses we saw were really interesting but ultimately not for us. One was absolutely dreamy in terms of space and layout but it just had too many drawbacks to consider. *sigh* It was a good way to dream on the Full Wolf Moon. Plus I made sure to create my dreamboard!

Shannon

I picked up daily word definitions calender (WOOHOO!). The words are a little all over the place though, like this one...avowal, I guess it's tied to 'vow' but I struggled to think of more usages other than the example here. My brain did think about it though! Here's for learning more words in 2015!

I spent some time in my crafts room today which made me very happy. I moved my Christmas tree in there with some family photos. You couldn't see the mountains from the window, we are getting a ton of rain but they were calling for snow so it's all good. It has truly been a fun day.

Jamie

Way backin January of 2007 Shannon and I took a Saturday morning class on how to knit. She, of course, went on to knit ever since (wow, 8 years!) and I am just now starting to learn again.

Suzie

I have been working on a top secret creative project and got one more part done today! It was so much fun to be in my crafts room. :)

Jamie

Tomorrow is the Full Wolf Moon and I'm working fiercely to get the final workshop of the Year of Dreams series ready to go. It's been a real challenge to bring it together over the holiday season, plus I'm revamping a bit of how these workshops are being offered. I took a break to have coffee with two dear friends and to hang out with Shannon but for most of the day I was tucked in and working on bringing this to life!

Shannon

It feels like this year so far is all about the fun! Here is another awesome gaming moment, but of the dance variety! It's been so much fun to hit the dancefloor in Just Dance 2015, even if the choreography sometimes can be very challenging! Fun times.

Suzie

Reg drove me to the library to pick up quite a bounty of books waiting for me! I am determined to figure out who Hello Kitty is, explore the world of superheroes and read about phenomenon of yarn bombing. This is the intellectual exploration I want to start in 2015, along with all my other interests.

Jamie

My Vision Cards are complete! I have absolutely fallen in love with them, as I do every year. This year they were a bit different. I have several cards that are just one image, which I've almost never had before. I feel like that represents clarity and focus, which is a nice way to start the year! This reflective, creative practice is my favourite things to do between Christmas and New Year's. Here's to a wonderful 2015!

Shannon

Welcome to 2015! It's funny because I thought I would spend the entire day completely consumed by lists and to dos and goals and planning, and although I did do a fair share of that I also wanted to spend some time just having fun! New Year's Day is a holiday after all. So that inspired me to spend some time playing, and sharing the awesomeness, of The Unfinished Swan. It's a wild game, a world that's totally blank until you throw balls of black paint to reveal what is around you. I love that you can just spend the time exploring and revealing what is around you. Exploration games for the win! I hope to find more like it, although it's so unique I can't imagine there will be a ton. Here's hoping!

Suzie

Reg and I had the most magical even at The Festival of Lights last night! We bundled up in parkas and wool socks and went to see this magical wonderland before it closed for the year. It was probably not a swift idea for my health to go but it was one of the big things on our list for the holidays. We wandered around and around, listening to Christmas music and got totally lost in the event. It was one of the most magical evenings of my life.

Jamie

One of my very favourite things about New Year's Eve is our ritual of making delicious mushroom risotto. We had some challenges along the way but ultimately this dish didn't let us down. Or the steaks we served with it - wowzers, just about the best we'd ever had. Nothing like a good meal to send off the old year and say hello to the new! Happy New Year, everyone!

Shannon

Happy New Year!! I was very thankful to ring in the New Year indoors with great company (/wave Jamie!) and watching lots of the New Years celebrations, and even though this one wasn't Canadian it was oddly memorable. Here's to a fun-filled, exciting, prosperous 2015 for all!

Suzie

In retrospect, I should probably have not gone for a walk yesterday because I coughed a lot all day when I got home but I needed mushrooms so there you are. I did wear my monster had though to keep warm. In Vancouver it's totally normal (and sometimes preferred) to walk down back alleys and that is what I like to do. So much quieter and for some reason, faster. So this is my hood.
