I am so excited to be making a start on my website refresh! And look at what I did! I'm feeling really emotional just looking at this and feeling so excited about what's possible. My intern Kim suggested just the right Wordpress Theme and I have been digging into it all weekend and seeing what I can do. I just feel so proud of myself, my heart is so full and I could seriously just put my head down for a week and focus on making this happen!

I am having so much fun watching The Olympics, and haven't even seen any actual sports yet!  The opening ceremony I enjoyed flag-spotting, and seeing the contingents from each of the countries as well as the amazing use of the huge space of the arena/location - but I didn't anticipate them sharing the story of War and Peace!  I still hope to read that one day!

Yesterday was video day! I tried Mom's poultry shears on a chicken (which did not go well), I made chicken broth in the Instant Pot (which I think went well) and of course I did the video tag too, even with all those boxes behind me. It was fun and is making me look at doing live videos a little differently now. Thanks for the inspiration!

We had our second guitar class yesterday and again, it was great. We received great feedback and, in fact, the teacher encouraged Justin to study classical guitar and that was such an affirmation! This week we're moving from plucking to strumming and learning Brown-Eyed Girl by Van Morrison. I'm so looking forward to it! And you know what's wild? Our teacher shared with us that he's in a scene of the new Robocop film - with Gary Oldman! How cool is that?

Just to show not all the flag's I've created ended up being winners.... I've had a fair few misses along the way but I just keep trying!

One great thing about the change in our "situation" is I can get out to the library again and got two books out about paper dolls. I still shake my head at this new interest but as you both have reminded me, my art is none of my business.

Wow, what a winter's day! I think we must have got a foot of snow. I wasn't looking forward to having to go out in it but it ended up being quite a treat. It was quiet, people were friendly and it was truly beautiful. Sometimes even a winter storm can surprise you.

Shannon

I'm continuing my quest to make flag flash-cards and I jumped over to start doing flags of Europe. I might be running out of juice in my red marker though! It's by far the most used colour in flags out of the ones I've done so far.

Clementine now has a friend but it's all temporary! Yesterday I finished making this monster for Michelle for her birthday, a special request. It is still so shocking how you are working with "components" and then all of a sudden, the character comes to life. It is going to be hard to let this little one go, he is just so adorable!

I'm so glad that Shannon and I got to spend a little time on the next Life Book lesson yesterday. I can't believe how much I am loving having the kitchen table consistently available for art making! It makes all the difference to know that we can just sit down and spend a bit of time creating.  Every moment is a learning experience. I'm so glad that we have stART to share our learnings with one another!

My prize from Suzie contest arrived today!  I'm so excited, it's so much fun to get stuff in the mail and now my tree-book-with-my-collection increase to... 5 books! heheheh

Suzie

Did not do much other than stART yesterday but I did take a cute photo of the sleeping owls gloves I made. I love the fact that even though I appear to be alignment-challenged, they still look really awesome.

Happy February!  Okay, okay, ... I'm a few days late.  But I only just turned over my calendar.  I love having a paper calender.  Even though fishes wouldn't be my first pick, and honestly this image is a little creepy but I still dig it.

Yesterday Reg and I took the embroidery machine in to this service centre. I had no idea it was also a fabric store and a very eclectic one that I immediately fell in love with. The guy who runs it is super nice and I felt very comfortable letting him take care of the machine. In fact a part of me felt like this all happened so I could discover this place. They have free sewing classes but they're booked until the summer but I am on the waiting list. Fingers crossed!

Jamie

Believe it or not, It was our 12-year wedding anniversary this weekend! We woke to these thoughtful  treats from Shannon. Thank you, Shannon! Because we're both not feeling well, we decided to tuck in, read, relax and watch shows yesterday and next week we'll go to dinner. It really is true that the most important part is being together! Shannon and I also got to do some painting this weekend, but I'll save that for stART!

I'm very excited to have finished reading my first book of the year with The Spook's Apprentice: Night of the Soul Stealer.  It's the 3rd in a series of kids-ish books and I'm really enjoying them.  I'm trying to keep to the Un-Plan and not worry about how much or what I'm reading/watching and more about enjoying, and so far - this fits!

Suzie

I didn't even go out this weekend so I took the opportunity to do some crafting. I have decided I absolutely need a folding table, I just can't work completely out of containers anymore. I can always put the folding table in storage later on. I love my crafts room, makes me sad to see it this way but I am glad I got all crafty this weekend.

It has been a heck of a few days!! After all that work, major tech issues thwarted my launch. Clearly I'm coming down with what's knocked Justin out for a couple of weeks now. But that didn't stop me from heading out for some fresh air, a little shopping and a stop for coffee. And look at this awesome set of Sharpies I found. What a treat! I'm pretty proud of myself for slowly but surely taking care of the tech issues, including making some bold decisions and for sticking with it and being ready to laucnh in the next couple of days. Hopefully by being slow and steady and gentle with myself (and getting out actually was me doing some self-care) things will turn around soon.

Shannon

Felt like time for a cute cat pic!  So here's one for ya!

Suzie

Yesterday I spent most of the day working on my Instant Pot video and getting up on my site as quickly as possible which was not easy, I always forget how long video takes to do. I definitely had some scaredy-cat moments and screw ups which I think made for fun watching which is good. I am getting a great response which is awesome. I do love doing the videos even though they can be so much work.
