One of the many good things about having a garden is there's always something to take a picture of! Gardens are also great keepers of time. They teach you both patience and presence. There's always something different in the garden. The seasons are expressed in the garden. And fruit and flowers take time to arrive. My garden has been my teacher.

I did a fair amount of planning earlier in the week and felt like I had it all sorted out. Amazing how it didn't turn out at all like I planned. Ah well, there is always next week!

Suzie

Well I did it! Yesterday I did the foodie tutorial and have even been working on putting the first cooking lessons together. I hope it will be done by next week. The editing is a lot of work but the videotaping was not as awkward as I thought it was going to be. Who knew that my double sink would be the perfect place to put my tripod?! One side for cooking, the other side for prep. My chicken butchering was a bit of a disaster though, took quite a while. But I did it!

Jamie

Another visitor! This little girl is new to us too. Dad and I were sitting having our breakfast in the kitchen when she stood up and put her paws on the back door! It was funny because then Dad realized that he really had to get ready to leave, so we figured she came by to remind him :) What a sweetie! I hope we see her again.

I went from 'thinking about drawing' again to actually doing some. this was an exploration of the relationship between 3 and 4, and I went with 3 circles surrounded by 4 lines. And I love covering the whole page to see how it creates a pattern that can have no feel of where the concept started.

Suzie

I hope you don't mind Shannon, I snuck a picture yesterday as we were recording Hexed. It was definitely the highlight of my day.

An amazing truce. Yesterday it absolutely poured. Our little interloper took refuge on our deck, curling up on the chairs until even that wasn't keeping him dry. Then he tucked himself under the couch on the right. What amazed me was a little black squirrel also took refuge, tucking herself right under the table! There they were, for at least 15 minutes, cat and squirrel, two feet away from one another, choosing peace thanks to the rain.

Shannon

I've just started a Star Trek: The Next Generation rewatch, as Space starting playing the show in syndication from the very beginning with Encounter at Farpoint. I don't know why, but I feel compelled to rewatch them & share the experience (which I've started writing about here). It's weird, because I can't logically figure out why I want to do this, but I know I want to do it. I guess it's a good thing I'm not Spock or Data, because I'm diving ahead regardless of logic.

Suzie

Even though it was hot and sunny yesterday, signs of fall's approach are here. Note: Stay away from grocery stores the first day of school. I thought the stores would be empty but it was insane! And I had to wait 20 minutes for a cab out in the hot sun. At least I have food now and so will the squirrels with acorns falling everywhere around here.

I'm still wading though my Supernatural Summer Re-Watch (although I feel like I should call it something else now that it's September). I made it through S3 earlier this week and hope to get though S4 this week. There isn't that much new TV yet so it hopefully won't be too much of a challenge!

Suzie

We had a really rough weekend so to get our minds and spirits away from tough stuff, we geeked out. Reg and I went to a BBQ at a comic book store and wow, did we ever make in-roads on his costume. I wanted to share photos of it but it is still 100% top secret so I am sharing this cook image of a female sorceress instead.

Jamie

We played it pretty low-key for this Labour Day weekend but really enjoyed the exquisite weather - clear blue skies, gentle breezes, warm but relatively comfortable temperatures. We also spent a bunch of time prepping for Dad stopping by. He's here in Toronto for a couple of days, so we're getting a chance to catch up and visit.

Shannon

I've been a little off kilter on posting but hoping I can do more sharing, and today I have my dreamboard to share from the Full Blue Moon! And for some freaking reason it's sideways. I tried, but can't figure out how to fix it. I didn't take it sideways, I didn't upload it sideways and I didn't create it sideways but if that's the way it's going to be, fine!

Rewind: September 2, 2012

Jamie

(2004) For this rewind I went back to when we first moved into the house and two of my favourite pictures of the cats. They loved that window! Even now, when Jinx can't see, she'll sometimes head up there and smell the great outdoors.

We had a great time making our dreamboards together for the Full Blue Moon. I think Jinx had a particularly good time! She loves her Auntie Shannon!

Suzie

Reg and I went to Crescent Beach yesterday. It was over two hours away but we really needed to hit the road and get the hell away from things. It's a gorgeous beach! Just wish it was closer.
