Sticking with the flower theme for just a bit longer. I guess it's that time of year! These beauties are actually at Tanya's. We spent the day together yesterday spending time working through her business and then through mine. It was awesome. Working on stuff like that is one of my very favourite things to do. Though I have to admit I was pretty moody when we were slogging through some of my stuff. There are some changes coming at Jamie Ridler Studios!

Shannon

Still in crazy festival mode and trying to process all the amazing short films. So many exciting ones to enjoy! The programs I saw yesterday were The Family Compact and Creative Control and as I exclaimed in my vlog last night I realized it is 100% true that of course I would go to these as I am from, and a part of, a family of creatives!

Suzie

Sorry! Life is very weird and had an unexpected turn yesterday. Reg is home today (long story) and so I haven't had time to upload photos of me making chocolates but I am fine.

Jamie

I'm sticking with the flower theme! I guess it's that time of year. I was so excited to finally get out to the garden centre and pick a few lovelies for our tiny front garden. Being on a busy street, the front of the house is a challenge but it's so welcoming to have something pretty as soon as you arrive.

Shannon

Back in festival mode, and this time I'm taking on and taking in the Worldwide Short Film Festival. I really love this festival, so many short films to enjoy in just 6 days and I only just realized that this year will be my 5th year covering the festival! Wow! See my Day 1 Vlog here.

You know I am not big into stuff but these copper pots make my heart soar. I was using them in the kitchen yesterday to work on a rhubarb "Eton Mess" dish and a strawberry sauce to accommodate it. This made me seriously happy.

My peonies are so happy this year! They are so gloriously heavy and abundant that they are throwing themselves dramatically onto the lawn. It's definitely time for me to get those circular supports for these precious blooms (LOL, that suddenly sounds like a euphemism for buying a bra!) Until I get the support, my solution has been to bring them inside and enjoy! I had been blown away by the big beauty and then last night noticed the little bud had opened wide. I love the journey of flowers!

Shannon

Oh that sneaky cat... here you can't see the action but there is the evidence as he eats my to do list! Sneaky sneaky!!

Yesterday was a weird, weird day. I had to suddenly go to the doctor's (everything's OK, thank goodness) and Reg came home unexpectedly so he could drive me and it's so, so cold! I think it was below 10C when we went out. I was showing Reg my mock orange tree and how it is covered in blooms and my heart hurt a bit. As much as I struggling living here, it makes me sad to leave this tree one day. I feel silly writing that but I thought you two would understand. It has grown so much, been attacked by miserable bugs, overshadowed by the plant next to it and yet it is doing amazing. I am so proud of this tree.

Jamie

I love going to the movies on Saturday morning. This week, Shannon, Justin and I got out to see Snow White and the Huntsman. I really liked it, particularly the art direction - beautiful!

Shannon

Weekend watching was f-u-l-l. Bondathon continued with You Only Live Twice (had coolness, but was meh'd me out on the sexism), Alien Resurrection which was PAINful, but good thing that I absolutely adored John Carter and then was completely absorbed by Ultimate Fighter Season 14 which is, well, a lot to get through in 1 weekend! What I will do to review things, kinda nutty.

Took Reg downtown to some of his favourite hangouts including the second-hand music shop Taz. Got some great deals and nothing cheers Reg up more than shopping therapy, especially when we get music for awesome prices.

Jamie

This pic is from a Full Moon Dreamboard session in 2009! I can't believe it was that long ago. We created our dreams together under the Full Harvest Moon!

I have been looking for this photograph EVERYWHERE! And I finally found it this morning. I adore it. Do we ever know how to have fun!

Friday night hang out at my place! Jinx giving some cuddles and Shannon and I discovering (wow) Canada Sings. I'm still reeling with the power of the number by the air force!

Shannon

Ultimate Fighter Challenge Finale!!!! Yep. I watched it. I watched each and every episode this season. I did. And I enjoyed it all. Not as much as the GSP vs Koscheck season, but it was still very entertaining and had lots of great fighting.

Jamie

Yesterday I spent the day having a rev-o-rama with my dear friend Fabeku. The goal is to really connect you to your super power and then use that as a guiding light. It includes two Sonic Vroom sessions by Fabeku, where he goes deep with his drums and then comes back with powerful metaphors to guide your way. Mine included luxurious red theatre curtains, two small owls, a chorus of female ancestors, a golden bird suit and a magnetic engine. Wow! I feel really tuned into the energy I bring to the world and have some strong ideas for how to channel that powerfully. What a day!

Shannon

I've noticed recently that I have zero recent pics of me so although this is uber-traditional Shannon shot, at least it's a new one or me in my hood.

Suzie

As you both know I picked up the same edition of the cookbook Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book Mom had in her kitchen when we were growing up. Totally a treasure, turned my day from crap all the way around. I was amazed how many people on FB said that this was one of their favourite cookbooks. I called Mom too and she was thrilled her favourite fried chicken was in there because it was taken out of the later edition that she has. I've been so homesick lately, this was like a hug to get me through until I'm finally back with family for a visit!
