Jamie

Yesterday I ran into the setting sun, the houses vermillion behind me.
I turned and ran into the rising moon, so close I felt I could run right into her arms.
By the time I was able to capture her, she'd already moved away.

Another series complete!
Reading Blue-Eyed Devil makes me complete on the series that started with Appaloosa (novel on which the film is based), and is the first western series I've read. They were really swift reads with tons of clipped dialogue and although I didn't love it I did love the camaraderie and friendship between the 2 characters in the story. Now, I just have to watch the film.

Thanks to Jamie and Shannon handholding me and getting me all set up for my big interview, I think my conversation talk with Laura Calder about the next season of Recipe to Riches went OK. Not only is it new tech for me, I can sometimes have brutal social anxiety and I loathe the phone so I think I did pretty well. I started with some questions and then we just went from there. Thanks Jamie & Shannon! I could not have done this without you.

I love being a part of Shannon's Movie Moxie Book-to-Film Club. This weekend we went to our first film of the year, The Lady in Black. I enjoyed the movie but feel the book is much stronger, more powerful in its restraint and choices. I love the thought and conversation that's inspired by reading the book and then watching the film. Thank you, Shannon!

Weekend Watching: Book to Film Club Film The Woman in Black, some X-Files rewatching including my fave episode Ice and The Marine. And for some reason the picture is oddly rotate, but I've spent enough time trying to get it centred... and so ... it will just be wrong. I don't really have the time to fix it anymore, so... too bad!

Made homemade Nutella-stuffed waffled French toast for brunch yesterday. Then watched Red Riding Hood thanks to Shannon! I loved it Shannon, perfect birthday gift. :)

Rewind: When Club Girls Go To a Wedding

Rewind: 1990 (which is 22 years ago now!) 2 cute catty animals at Cedar Point.
I always loved seeing the animals there, although retrospectively it seems a bit odd to have wild animals at an amusement park!

Rewind! This is the front of our house in North York, Ontario. We had a banana-yellow garage door that I used to hit with tennis balls as I practised all summer. This is also what my friend Alix nicknamed "The Poltergeist Tree" which grew by the front door. Both Jamie and I used to live in the bedroom this tree was right outside of. It was the only time I was scared of a tree. Funny, now I remember it so fondly. Maybe it got a bad rap?

Friday night hanging out with Shannon, eating Chinese food and enjoying my fortune.

I finished Extras by Scott Westerfeld today, it's the fourth and final book in the Uglies series - a very interesting post-apocalyptic set YA series that I've actually been working though for quite a while and it was wild to finally get all the way through! I really enjoyed it.
One of my carry-over book goals from last year was to *finish* many of the series I was in the middle of, so this is one more down (oodles to go...)!

And of course I had to add the cat in the picture...because I hadn't done that yet!

Reg had the day off yesterday and dropped me off at the Dollarstore while he went to get a haircut. We have walkie talkies so after I stocked up on crafting supplies and browsed, I got a transmission from him telling me he was done and in the parking lot so I went in line to pay. Life without cell phones!

I finally gave in and bought some air hardening clay. I am done trying to make my own clay! So many disasters, I finally came to my senses and started using the clay I worked with at the very beginning of my pendant-making odyssey in BC. Totally worth $1.50.

Well, the picture's dark and grainy but that just shows you how cozy and romantic the restaurant was last night when we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary!
The food was amazing ~ and the company divine.

I love tracking things, which is why I love Get Glue!
It's fun to check in to shows while watching and every once in a while, or almost always with the new shows that are social-media-savvy, they give you fun stickers! YAY! I just wish when I actually ordered them for realz, they would actually... show up. No luck on that so far but I still love to virtually have them.

I spent yesterday experimenting in my crafts room for Creativity Thursday but it ended up being more like crappy crafts day. Luckily my Dremel took did not let me down as I polished two cold porcelain pendants. Everything else went to hell except one other project. I am not giving up though!

Jamie

I felt sad turning away from this January picture on my calendar.
The owl is my guide for this moon cycle.
And I'm completely amazed by how the colour of the sky blends right into my studio wall!
(You probably have to do a double take to even notice where the calendar is pinned up!)

Portabley recording Hexed with Suzie (via phone & paper notes for the win!).
How I managed to do all that and take a pic I'm not quite sure!

Talking to Shannon for Hexed was definitely the highlight of my day yesterday. Everything else kind of blew. We are in the dark time of Nova Scotia and on the brink of a transit strike. Sorry, just a bad day but at least talking supernatural TV with Shannon rocked!

Thank you, Shannon!

Starting off the month with my calendar courtesy of Jen at Pincurl Girls! Every month she shares a beautiful & supportive calender to enjoy, and I enjoy it each and every month.
In February I'm going to try to track and plan some goals in a different way, so I bought some fun push pins & magnets to help me plan and celebrate meeting my goals. Fingers crossed it goes well!

I wanted to spend time in my crafts room but just couldn't. The kitchen called and I made lower-fat peanut butter cookies and homemade Nutella instead.
